Upcoming tariffs on vehicles made outside the US

:ROFLMAO: This whole thing is so woefully inaccurate it's hilarious.

Please show me one concrete example of a kid getting a sociology degree so they can work as an assistant manager at a GAP. I'll bet you can't find one. Based on that comment I bet you don't even know what jobs can be fulfilled by having a sociology degree. Hopefully you'll do some research and figure it out though, but I would also bet you won't.

I love the mentality of "fall in line, don't question anything, do what we tell you, if not you're a "shit bag student, shitty parent, or a shitbird administrator". Obviously coming from the perspective of someone who doesn't know why sociology degrees are needed...shocker.

As far as "legitimately marketable and useful (aka difficult and demanding)", that's as equally uninformed and clueless as not knowing why sociology degrees are needed. I'd love to hear your take on the list of degrees that you approve of and then do an analysis of all of the things that you can say goodbye to because of what's excluded. Hilariously uninformed.

As for your thoughts on Biden...no real shocker there based on your limited educational knowledge.
The Biden comment is so out of line - I don’t understand what happened on here. I popped off for a couple of weeks and I’ve come back to see someone wishing someone to die of cancer in a miserable way hello moderators. This has been a wonderful experience. I’ll probably pop off again for a while.. this is absolutely unacceptable for that statement to be made and for it to still be up for people to read. It’s extremely fucking insulting for somebody else whose dad was just diagnosed with cancer. So since we can just say whatever we want I guess I’ll say to that poster. Fuck you.

Can someone just lock this thread and put an end to this? No one is changing anyone else's mind on this topic.
No kidding- and we even got to a point of dying a terrible suffrage from cancer

:ROFLMAO: I'd never own a Tesla. Never liked them, never wanted one. The truck thing is laughable. I love the video where it's stuck on the side of the street in a few inches of snow and a little Honda passes it by.
Yeah, you can tell this has become completely polarizing. Because we made fun of cyber trucks on this website from the very beginning when we were buying our land cruisers and now look at how it’s gone off the rails..

I knew this was coming. I picked up the 1958 two weeks after the elections. I was like this could end up being like buying some stocks low.

A BMW X5 made in South Carolina won't take a hit. This means that sadly if this tariff game stays on, our beloved Tahara made cars will either cost a lot more or get built in North America.
Actually, a BMW made in South Carolina will take a hit on all parts (engine, transmission) that are made in Germany.

And take a wild guess at what is also up? Your source looks like AI, so I'll use the same (sorry if that's incorrect), and another source that isn't.

I find it entertaining when people complain about corporate profits, while talking about the vehicle they just bought that 60-80 percent of the population could likely never afford.

Are you saying if you can afford to buy something you should not because others can't? What's your point? That because you can afford to buy something you should not because it will contribute to corporate profit? That doesn't make any sense.

I'm saying don't be hypocritical by condemning something while simultaneously supporting it. No one "needs" a Land Cruiser.

I think you can criticize a painting without having touched a paintbrush ever in your life. You can be a chain smoker and criticize smoking. Argument should have a fundamental basis and shouldn't depend on something orthogonal to it.

I can be a total anti-math nutjob but when I say "1+1=2" it should stand on its own. Doesn't matter what I do or believe personally even if it is hypocritical.

I do disagree with the level of profits being raked in by some corporations, but that is a much larger discussion on specific markets, subsidies to those markets, and corporate ethics.

What you're presenting is that purchasing an expensive vehicle and condemning corporate profit can't exist together. This is called a false binary, or false dilemma, in debate tactics. It's not a "one or the other" scenario. These types of statements are used to try and over-simplify a complex issue.

An individual most certainly can say not all corporate profit gains are good while still purchasing other items that align with their needs or requirements. Otherwise, in your assessment, you either can't purchase anything or you can't disagree with some profits - and that's just plain silly.

You do you, I'll do me. I prefer to keep a Land Cruiser forum about....LAND CRUISERS. But I've silently watched you hijack this thread with politicization, so finally thought I'd call out hypocrisy when I see it. Wanna go on Twitter and debate this stuff? I'll debate you all day long. JUST. NOT. HERE.

So you replied but don't want to continue with hijacking? Makes perfect sense :ROFLMAO: Sorry if basic facts and logic are beyond you. If you didn't want to debate then you shouldn't have hit the reply button - it's that simple.

Totally agreed. A lot of BS “trashed” in here where people joined / wanted to learn and contribute/share knowledges/experiences about LC.

I personally spent a lot of time to contribute with many posts about LC mods / experiences with “clearly illustrative” photos.
Now, it is kinda sick because of these political hijackers

Your “basic facts” are BS facts which pulled out from your own head with no convinced or helpful for many of us. “Your own facts made perfect sense my ASS” ;)
Some of you may enjoyed those…just live with them…but leave this LC forum alone.
Meet and thrown your BS political “facts” in other forums ;)

I replied hoping you’d appreciate the comments of others on this group and think twice about what you post on a forum dedicated to vehicle enthusiasts.

My bad. It backfired. I shoulda known better.

This is usually the response for someone who can't look up their own sources and facts. This is all about your feelings. Again, sorry, but you're expressing opinions without any factual reference. Anything I've shown is easily verifiable...knowing how to do so would benefit you.

One thing I do is definitely appreciate the comments of others. Look at them, analyze them, and see what's facts and what's feelings. It doesn't matter if it's politics, tariffs, or LC related. It really seems like some aren't capable of mature debate and they let their own feelings get in the way.

The funny thing is you're engaging and commenting but expecting me (or others) not to. As I said earlier in another post, if you don't want a response, don't hit reply.
