I drove it a few inches forwards and backwards but it didn’t detect anything, at least nothing showing on screens. It’s all a mystery
Be interesting to see if your car recognises the tow bar not just the lights working?

Kev thats exactly what ive got ! lights all good but nothing else , nothing on dash , I,ve been doing the same turn off the rear collision button to the right of the steering wheel this will stop emergengy braking only , you can turn off the rest in settings but this is every time you get in the carJust hooked up my trailer and electrics. All the trailer lights work straight away but the car detects nothing. I needed to turn off the button to the right of the steering wheel to stop it beeping at me when reversing. The rear detection doesn’t go out and shows up on the reversing camera. Clearly not ‘plug and play’. Without reading the manual, I can’t find anything in the settings to say that a trailer is available to be able to change anything else.
I did try the indicators, but don’t think that they beeped either. My guess, considering that Toyota fitted mine and it is operating the same as yours, is that there is a software issue. I’m not in a rush, but will contact my dealer at some point to ask them to investigate.Kev thats exactly what ive got ! lights all good but nothing else , nothing on dash , I,ve been doing the same turn off the rear collision button to the right of the steering wheel this will stop emergengy braking only , you can turn off the rest in settings but this is every time you get in the car
I put it into my local Toyota and there answer is that I must have done something wrong !!!! charge me £95 for that but I did get a nice video of my tyres !!! well I stripped it all out today with my mate whos a technition and theres nothing wrang Toyota want me to pay £360 to investigate BUT we think it has not been PDI d properly and or these vehicles just do not have the software i,m putting a picture on of the main loom showing its own stand alone ECU plus a buzzer which should buzz / beep when indicating mine does not

This youtube shows the trailer settings for the US version which is very different to ours. However, it shows some settings in the menu so I will take a look tomorrow to see if there’s anything there: to help us:Ok Kev your in a better position to find out there should be a fix look at TRD Jon on YouTube

I’ve just checked and we don’t have anything in our settings menu, presumably because we don’t have electric brakes and a tow haul adjustment.

I’ve hardly driven it yet, but the very short reversing that I’ve done there hasn’t been any brake squealing.Kev good evening I do get that but the LC should recognise its got a trailer attached this is basic Tech in 2024 it should have it for £80 k
I went into Toyota Stourbridge today rather than endless emails James there after sales manager was very good wrote down all my concerns etc and is asking Toyota technical
Kev do your brake squeal espealy in reverse ??

There is this other video from US showing that manual changes are needed when towing…..see approx 4:30 mins onwards.
Jimbo - 31.4mpg on a new engine is very good and way better than the old car with the same engine so they’ve obviously made some valuable tweaks.

The brake squeal is common all over world apparentlyits about run in. It does however have a brake squeal in reverse ,which seems is pretty common.. Still waiting for my tow bar but I have been busy so haven’t pushed them.
I am feeling 36 psi all round gives a better ride than 33 psi on stock tyres - what do the rest of you thinkWell done FT, look forward to hearing how you get on after your roadtrip!
