The tow bar electrics maybe a problem if anyone else is having there’s fitted need to know the outcome please

I’ve raised the towbar issue with my dealer who has sent it to Toyota for a response.
Same here Kev I would imagine they will all be the same
There will be many having tow bars fitted in the UK so Toyota will know by now they have a problem I,m 99% sure the rear sensors should Auto disable when the car is put into reverse , there are 3 in the US TRD Jon Youtube which shows them Auto disabling and the other 2 do NOT Auto disable Maybe have not been PDI ,d properly Maybe needs a software update to enable the car to recognise its got a trailer attached??? Maybe the towing loom is one carried over from the previous LC and is,nt quite right ?? Charging me £95 to code mine in and not even knowing if it needs coding in them blaming me when theres an inherent fault is outragouse to say the least !!!! I will be getting a refund for that when Toyota come back to us , also the buzzer in not working attached to the dedicated ECU on the tow electrics loom .Another thing that probably Auto disable is the Adaptive Cruise Control ?? and als maybe the Lane keeper / assist
Theres an odd relay in the main fuse box under the bonnet called TOW STOP ?? Actually that relay is missing
Dealership just called I may have hit on the problem they want to try a relay in the spot where the TOW STOP Should be!🤞

Jimbo - 31.4mpg on a new engine is very good and way better than the old car with the same engine so they’ve obviously made some valuable tweaks.

Are you enjoying it much more than the outgoing 150 series??
Yes it’s much better to drive very quiet compared to a 150 and corners much better I haven’t really tested it of road yet as I’m waiting for tyres but it has done all the normal off road stuff my 150 does perfectly. I was worried about the loss of the kdss but I can’t notice it .The lack of storage in the cab is a bit of a challenge.. Remembering to switch the RSA to visual only each time you start it is a bit of a pain . Alternatively I could just drive more slowly !

I wonder if that “towing stop” relay is for the US versions with the tow hail electric braked trailers, which we don’t have.

One thing that doesn’t seem to work on mine, but I might be missing something, is the driver seat memory. It should be set by my key, plus having it set to slide upon starting the ignition in the car settings. This doesn’t happen for the seat, although the steering wheel does move to my setting. The seat slides back fine when I turn the ignition off. The seat has moved automatically back to it’s driver position on only two occasions but not since. I also don’t think that the seat memory buttons now work. They do beep correctly when trying to store the setting. I was surprised that the seat memory buttons don’t have a back light the same as all other buttons, such as window switches, so you can’t see them at night.

Anyone else have this problem?

My dealer says that they can only deal with Toyota on one issue at a time (towbar) and are not allowed to check anything else themselves until Toyota say so, due to it being a new model. The dealer also hasn’t gone through any training on it yet.

Who knows Kev it’s amazing how the dealership is just guessing and stabbing in the dark

I also have the squeal when reversing
Has anyone found a tray to fit in the arm rest cooler ? I know there is a guy in the US 3D printing but the shipping from US and all the painful customs stuff means better if there are Chinese or whatever selling on Amazon etc

Can only see the ones that fit the bigger cubby ?

Looking good ,is that a K9 dog crate if so are you happy with how it fits ? I’m looking for one to replace our double one which is too big. Which model is it ?

Yep TransK9 - I bought it for my previous black lab Zac in 2016 and now Fred uses it BUT I think it’s been replaced by a new model

It’s a great company and the crate has been superb - no issues - fits very nicely - it sits back against the 2nd row and maybe 4 inches back from the tailgate - I have the rubber protection mat that sits under it and drops down over the bumper to protect it - very good product

I, going int Steven Eagell today to get the TOWING STOP relay see if it works they are trying there best but they are as frustrated as us customers James the after sales manager is being very good I wouldnt be at all surprised if they look at this forum ???? if so good morning James .

The messages I got back was that BFG KO3’s are 2025 so yes I currently plan to keep the AT23’s until I can swap next year ahead of the Autumn

That all assumes I do not have any issues with the AT23’s that push me to change - in that scenario not sure what I would do

If BF Goodrich have delivery timings anything like Toyota UK then it may be 2026!!
If that is the case, I might just go for the KO2’s as they are still a great tyre.

What will the road tax cost be on a new LC after April next year?

I wonder if it will dampen sales or encourage a commercial version 🤔

My dealer just contacted me to say that Toyota have responded on the towbar issue that I raised to say that nothing is automated when you plug a trailer in. Settings need to be manually changed. I have asked for clarification on what settings, other than the auto braking button to the rhs of the steering wheel.
