We also need to consider the Tacoma and 4Runner.Definitely need to start a sticky listing part numbers of every single tank made for this platform.
I believe there are at least 7 different fuel tanks out so far for this platform.
- LC 250 North American spec 17.9 Gallon petrol main
- Prado 250 UAE 29 gallon petrol main
- Prado 250 UK 21.1 gallon diesel main
-Prado 250 Australia -21.1 gallon diesel main
-Prado 250 Australia 8 gallon diesel sub
-Lexus GX550 21.1 Gallon petrol main
-Lexus Gx550h 17.9 gallon petrol main
There is someone from the UAE on here who posted some photos of their skid plates. I asked them if they could post some photos of the full underside. Next time they have it on a lift.Prado 250 UAE 29 gallon petrol main... now you're talking! is the UAE petrol spare in the same location? that tank could be money
Not sure if that helps our cause. I believe they’re 18 and 19 gallons respectively. We also need to consider the Tacoma and 4Runner.
I wonder if this would fit? (Not yet out)Looks like I tried the wrong tank......LOL
One would have thought the GX tank would be a direct swap as they share the same frame, however it's the suspension that got in the way.......LOL
I do know the diesel's muffler is a different size and the fuel pump mount/securing ring might be different as well. The diesel tank probably isn't plumbed, EVAP wise, the same as the gasoline tank
Might be worth trying to get part #s for the UAE/Dubai spec Hybrid 110 Liter (29 gallon) gas/ petrol tank set up.
I believe both a hybrid and non hybrid version of the 2.4 L turbo 4 cylinder petrol and the 2.8L diesel are available in UAE.UAE model is not hybrid. FWIW here are some links:

I was wondering if it is structural to keep tank from deforming, definitely there for some reasonVery curious with this molded void is for. Is that to clear a mounting bracket or something?
Possibly to create a baffle and reduce sloshing, but there’s that big round void on the top too. I strongly suspect they are just there to reduce the internal volume and therefore capacity of the tank by reducing weight of the tank when full.I was wondering if it is structural to keep tank from deforming, definitely there for some reason
I don't believe it's structural as both tanks are two pieces made from 1/8" to 1/4" plastic and thermo-welded together. There appears to be one void that is molded into both tanks and that looks to be structural to prevent the top of the tank from sagging.I was wondering if it is structural to keep tank from deforming, definitely there for some reason
Does it look like it could have been made 15-20% more capacity and still maintained adequate clearances? That’s my guess.I don't believe it's structural as both tanks are two pieces made from 1/8" to 1/4" plastic and thermo-welded together. IMO They started with one or the other tank and designed it to fit correctly in that vehicle. Then when they put it in the opposite vehicle........... "hey this won't fit due to the link mount" or "hey there a lot of room back near the axle, we should make it bigger"
Oh for sure, if they would have put the LC lower together with the GX upper...... life would be great!Does it look like it could have been made 15-20% more capacity and still maintained adequate clearances? That’s my guess.
