GX550 fuel tank in a Land Cruiser

The tanks are indeed different shapes, but the only "non-fit" area was what I out lined, otherwise it looked like it was going to fit, just needed to be slid back a bit to get the tank straps to line up.
From your picture comparing the two tanks, it looked like the distance from the fuel pump mounting ring to the part of the LC tank where it slopes steeply for the suspension linkage pocket might be the same distance as it would be to the back of the GX tank.

You mentioned that you had to slide the GX tank back a bit to get the straps to line up, could that be the cause of the interference?

If you line up the fuel pump mounting ring on the GX tank to the hole in the floor and move the strap location instead would it fit?

The issue is: In order to line up the GX tank to the hole and fit in the contour of the floor, the tank must move backwards about 2-3"

I second the UAE is hybrid and non hybrid. Somewhere I thought there was a video explaining the Hybrid still had the 29 gallon tank. Of course they could have been wrong. But from my limited knowledge, exploring the UAE angle (because it's also hybrid) would be of high priority.
If there is a factory 29 gallon setup on a 2.4 hybrid, that clearly seems like the way to proceed.

Looking at photos of the under carriages, the only thing I'm unsure on is if the Hybrid motor/mount is going to interfere. Don't know how the Lexus dealer would feel about me rolling under one with a tape measure and taking pictures...... might just have to find out.....LOL

No need, I purchased a GX tank, pulled the LC tank and the GX tank is not a direct bolt in. The LC has 4-link bars (well 2 of the 4) and the passenger side link mount is in front of the rear axle. The LC's tank has a void molded into the tank to clear the mount. The GX tank doesn't because it doesn't use a 4 link system like the LC so the tank hits the LC mount.

Our version of the LC250 and in general in the middle east we don't have hybrid version, instead it's a 110 Litre fuel capacity (80 Litre main tank, 30 Litre subtank).
But is it worth the trouble to increase your fuel tank capacity?
