Tire Upgrade ?

Icon Alloy Recon SLX 18x9 +40 offset
Falken Wildpeak AT4W: load range C, 285/70/r18 33.7 or Falken claims 34โ€

I took it over into the desert by my house and tried to get some rub but never felt or heard anything. Here are some quick photos I grabbed but I would say, success!
@glfadk72 , you may have already updated us but I missed it if you did. Any issues after a month of driving on these 33.7's? Did the spare fit in the OEM location?

Out of curiosity (because I'm trying to make this decision as well) did you go with E or SL wildpeaks? Any reasoning for your load rating choice if you don't mind sharing? :)

I donโ€™t think I will ever carry an extremely heavy load, not will I rock climb or tow anything substantial. For me, I have WILDPEAK AT3s on my sonโ€™s jeep and they are 6 years old with 40,000, miles and they are awesome. The jeep is on the beach at the Outer Banks and working great. I saw no reason for me to opt for a stiffer ride.
 
That is exactly what I want to do for my LC FE.
Got them today, still have to decide between 255 or 275 blizzaks but Iโ€™m leaning towards 275.

No noticeable difference below 50. Haven't been on the highway yet. Very pleasant ride so far.
Great to hear. Would love to get an update once you have a chance to test on the highway.

  • Run 80% pavement and 20% trails
  • Love the look of slight poke or flush fitment with fender (Eliminates stock wheels)
  • 17 or 18 inch wheels is a must (For looks and larger side walls)
  • Semi weight conscious (Trying not to destroy MPG's)

Side note: I'm finding todays aftermarket support for LC wheels is still catching up - Most require using hub centric rings (Factory hub bore 95.1mm) and the 17" options are extremely close on wheel fitment with brake/weight clearance (I know a lot run 17"s with no current issues). Something to consider even though 17's offer the best weight savings.

funny that's the three i been gravitating too......I like the TRD but the price seems high cant find a set ...I like the recon but maybe too fancy spoke look..like the methods but maybe to plain and common ......I saw a guy with the 1952 Analogs on here kinda like the retro steel vibes might go for that ....If i had my land cruiser i would take anyone of them and be happy...but TRD/Method/Icon is my ranking
 
new member here, got a 1958 last month and recently got tires put on. Nitto Ridge Grapplers, 285/70/18, stock 18" wheels

no trimming needed. mudflaps were removed so they dont get caught on stuff

love the stock look - once lifted, will probably throw 35's on those rims

I personally find the Icon wheels really tacky looking. The obnoxious logo and design of the spokes really gives me the ick.

Check out Relations Race Wheels RS7-H, these are the wheels TRD Jon test fit on his rig. They may be providing the amount of poke and style you are looking for.

I agree - the Fifteen52 Analogs need to be added to my list
