Show us your LITS (LandCruisers in the snow)

Agree 100%. Most people just swap out stock tires without driving much. I was pretty surprised to see that stock tires are M+S rated.
+1. People love to change out the wheels/tires (primarily for looks, but NOT judging) and need to justify it, but they’re more than adequate. Handled well on snow and slush in Canada and wet roads in Washington.

Hasn’t snowed in a bit here. But….

Nice ride to the gym. By the time I got back home we probably had gotten 12 inches. No trouble with stock tires and center diff locked. MTS on deep snow. I purposefully climbed up our non-plowed inclined alley and she handled beautifully. View attachment 23456
Your post is very reassuring!

I was Fixin’ supper this afternoon, and noticed it was snowing. So I went out and pulled Miss Daisy out of the carport, and into the snow, here in Cherokee County NC.

3 minutes later the ‘snow’ (sleet) stopped. So, no pictures of Miss Daisy in the snow.

Alright folks it’s about that time of year…..let’s see everybody’s LITS (LandCruisers in the snow).
I get awfully jealous living in Vegas…so do me a favor and let’s see your LCs in some white stuff! 🍻
Shouldn't the title actually be 'LCITS'? 👀

You could get lucky and the weather might be fine, but there are so many areas it could get bad I also couldn’t recommend making that drive in December with any of the stock LC tires. I wouldn’t do it without some at least 3 peak rated.
I second that, Ice will still ruin your day even with 3-peaks. I did a little sliding around on my Toyo AT3s going downhill on ice. Wasn't fun.

This looks really good man. I've been seeing these wheels on other LCs but I think they look best with the black LC.
Thanks man ! Those are probably not the one you think. They're C-wheel, a brand available through Costco here in Canada. They're replicas of the BBS forged ones so they look very similar. Only downside is that they're cast. I also had to design and 3D print the hubs caps I could fit the OEM Toyota center caps. It was a bit of a hassle but once painted I really can't tell is homemade.

Rare occurrence here in the south, but a foot of snow and still coming down! I work in a hospital, so no such thing as a snow day! The LC got me out of the neighborhood (first tracks on the streets) and in "deep snow" mode, it was effortless!

I realize many in the north would not find me eligible for this thread, but this is the most snow we've had in a decade (Alabama -America's best kept secret)!
This is my 2 day old LC LC. It handles the slush like a boss!

So not the LC itself in the snow but a pic going past the Monarch ski area on the way home from Telluride. No major storms this trip, snowfall came in inches not feet, but multiple snowy pass crossings on a set of Michelin X-Ice in OEM size. The LTX Trails were crap in the city during a couple of snow/ice events (neither very serious) in November and December so bit the bullet and went for dedicated winter tires before setting out on several holiday road trips. Have enjoyed sure-footed travel through rain, slush, fresh fallen and packed snow. On all but sheer ice if you give the vehicles traction control a second to sort out where to send power it does great and inspires a lot of confidence where I might have been white knuckling it in a past car. The X-ice probably wouldn't be great at plowing up a trail through feet of snow but work great for this kind of driving (I prefer them to Blizzaks TBH) and with minimal hit to MPG. Average from Denver to T-ride and back was 23.4, probably helped because conditions kept the speed below 75 most of the time.
