New from UK

Fred definitely has the Halstead stamp about him. I had one myself ,best picking up dog we have ever had, natural hunter.

They are lovely dogs

This was his predecessor - the great Zac - sadly he died just before his 4 th birthday in the midst of Covid

I think its fine Dave
having looked at the way passive regen works it burns out any soot from the filter when it reaches a certain temp after a certain mileage .You get a slight hot smell from the engine but its not using extra fuel like a forced regen does (which our tractors do) It seems a little and often policy is probably a better option. This only works if you get it hot enough so people who do lots of little runs or city drivers probably wont see it so much.
Thanks very much Jimbo I spoke to a sales guy yesterday and he was using a 2024 Hilux same engine that was the same as you say a little and often method makes sense
Any info on the tow bar electrics would be much appreceated please.
Dave

My lab has Drakeshead in her from a few gens back but you can see the look. A great dog who picks up tirelessly and also is a calm family pet.

The head is really distinctive . Lovely looking dog

The power outlet is really handy for charging things bigger than phones and running an electric coolbox. For my last car, I built a great flood / work lamp with a cheap LED security lamp and glazier’s double suction cup. Thin cable goes through the rear window hatch which closes on it, the suction cups hold it to the roof and you get daylight behind the car.
The socket is the European style plug so I keep an adapter in the car but I’m sure this could be changed to the UK socket.

FT - That must have been tough, he looked a lovely one too. Our previous one was run-over at just 2.5 years old and I thought the family would never recover so I know how you felt.

Sounds good I’ll put a picture on it’s a 3 pin in the LC250

Covid was I’m sure far worse for many but yes it was difficult

So glad we were able to get Fred - wasn’t easy as his breeder was in N Wales and they closed the border - not good for stress levels !

So far so good with the FE - done a collection and two trips to take Fred and my wife to an area we like for dog walks - Fred likes the configuration and jumps in and out

Read a lot about “wind noise” and tyre noise but not really felt that

I had stick tyres at 36 psi and then reduced to 33 psi but think 36 was giving a better ride part loaded

The engine is noisier than the 4.4 V8 in the L322 but I quite like the “honest” noise it makes when it’s pressing on

The suspension is not as smooth as vehicles with air bags but I didn’t expect it to be - if I can get the tyre position right (probably KO3’s with the right pressure) I’m sure it will be fine

I’m liking the HUD and the whole cabin ambiance - I hate the beeping of the speed level alert and need to get that addressed - what do I switch off or adjust to stop it beeping every time the speed changes and even if I am 1 mph above it ?

Panoramic roof is brilliant

The lack of cabin storage is a pain - looking forward to someone selling cool box compatible trays - not economic to import from the US

Anyone found any quality seat cap storage - I don’t want a massive one that holds drinks as the LCs drinks holders are adequate for me and I really like the padding on the side that I can rest my left knee against

Next challenge is the immobiliser - will post when I have that in hand
