JBL Stereo

There is a lot more bass potential with the JBL system than I'm getting in normal use.

I found the LC JBL system's lower end bass response disappointing; there were some notes my old Grand Cherokee's 10 speaker Alpine system hit with authority that are largely absent in my LC.

Thinking maybe something is wrong with the LC's factory sub, I asked Google to play a 40hz sine wave. The results were remarkable. It was able to put out that 40hz tone at an SPL far beyond what I could stand.

Either my audio sources are limiting the low end response, or the system is tuned to limit low end response. I wonder if there's an easy way around this? Would have been nice if Toyota included a separate level adjustment for the sub.

Does anybody have a picture of the JBL premium front doors speakers, the a pillar tweeter and L/R dash speaker . I want to see what they look like

Yes, Center 3.5. No tweeter. I believe L/R is the same speaker.
You have the 14 JBL system right? Are you going to replace the A pillar tweeters. I don know how they are wired since I might get components for the door and route the crossover wire to the tweeter. Share pictures if you are going to replace that would love to know how the wiring is. Also the beat sonic where did you install it. I have it in the glove compartment and I can tweak it but noticed that the rear channel gain doesn't do anything and the Front channel gain controls all the speakers. In the manual it says that this is because the Factory system is 2ch only.

So to confirm I was able to install 4" Ref 4032cfx int the front L/R Dash and 3.5 inch in the center because the 4" didn't fit there. I heard some people were not able to fit it in the L/R with 4 inch. It actually fits flush for me.

Yes, I have the JBL. I didn’t replace the tweeters just the 3 front dash speakers. A bracket was needed for the front door 6x9s so those won’t get done until next week. Also, will need to put in sound deadening as even the factory door speakers hit much harder with the beatsonic and rattles. Beatsonic was installed behind the radio. Ended up keeping factory sub, tried a few shallow options but were too power hungry and I didn’t want to start adding extra amps. Etc. Added additional sound deadening in the sub area. Overall nice improvement. Looking forward to getting 6x9s done.

What 6x9 brackets and speakers are you using?

the most cost effective modification to the JBL for me was adding a Beat Sonic Encore Alpha amp. For the price it is, it helps the clarity throughout increased volume and added a wider range of bass frequency lower to higher which is all I was seeking. It gave me the full audio sound without having to go into an intrusive speaker/ amp setup like my older vehicles

I put three of these in the dash pared with infinity for tweeters and rear and front door.

Does anyone know adapter for this to add after market tweeters? It's the tweeter for the front dash.

Its strange there are what looks like 4 wires running to the tweeter. I suspect they are passing the full range signal to the tweeter which has a crossover, and splitting the signal between the tweeter and the dash midrange
Found out its does have an adapter harness on Amazon Amazon.com. Just make sure if anybody is changing tweeters to install a crossover after the harness since full range signals is coming out. I did a little investigating played music on that corner only and found that the door speaker didn't work when tweeter is disconnected but the dash corner speaker did work. So I am sure it's crossed over with the door speaker not the dash.

Crossover soldered on and sound deadened

New infinity tweeters.

Does anyone know if the JBL amp is under the driver's seat? That is the location in the 2024 Tacoma apparently.

Not sure but it appears so (pages 3-4).

I think it's under the front seat I am going to try to bypass it and install a Aftermarket amp with DSP. I am hoping it's the same as the tacoma harness-wise. Even with the beat sonic I need some type of DSP because audio is too bright for me and not im not getting the tune I want. It's miles better than stock but I want more.

It’s so tight under the seat but seems like you can fit an amp in there since factory amp is not connected to the movement of the seat. rerouting a bypass to the trunk area could another way. Sonic has bypass harnesses but I dont know if it will throw code. https://www.sonicelectronix.com/item-199195-Axxess-AXABH-LX1-Amp-Bypass-Harness.html
actually I don't know if that's a amp or dsp, Doesn't look like a amp it feels like a smooth plastic box. I wish I could take a picture but it's so tight in there. I did finished sound deadening my doors :) its my first time and I don't know if I over did it.

In the Tacoma, it's under that hump in the carpet. Below is a screenshot of the TacoTunes YouTube video where they were working on a 2024 Tacoma with the JBL amp and the front seat has been removed so they could pull the carpet up and get to the amp.

Try not to get distracted by the gratuitous eye candy at the beginning of the video and skip to 00:45 to see her pulling the amp out.
