We’ve experienced the same issue twice, both times on an incline at a stoplight. When this happens, the hybrid system disengages, causing the vehicle to roll backward. Simultaneously, all the warning lights activate, indicating hybrid system and drive start control malfunctions. At that point, the vehicle won’t accelerate, and we’re forced to put it in park and restart it before we can drive again.
We initiated a case with Toyota Corporate, but they redirected us back to the dealership. I recommend opening a case with Toyota as well, so they can recognize this issue is more widespread and work toward identifying its root cause.
