1st pic during install. You can see the lashing straps in the top corners

2nd pic is the same but I put down the foam from my pelican boxes for a little extra padding under my hips on my HEST mattress

3rd shows under-bed space. You can fit a lot down there, don’t forget under the front seats

If I were a smarter man I would have gotten the base plywood panel first and then cut it down when the goose one came in, but I unfortunately got
The bed-sized panel first as I wasnt thinking.

When goose finishes their mods I imagine a gain of about 1” headspace if you’re smart or 1.5”-2” if you’re a dummy like me

Goose gear and 1/2” plywood sheet sized for your bedding, then your choice of storage solutions.

Or if you don’t want to pay the exorbitant premium for goose while also waiting to pay another arm and leg when they release the second row seat delete: a plywood sheet 1/2” 43”x76” will do you just fine
Thanks yes I'm probably going to end up doing something like that since I don't love the design of Goose.

If you end up doing it yourself would love to see the plans and outcome.

Bam beds is taking pre orders for the Land Cruiser 250 platform now and offering a $150 discount for anyone that places an order during the pre order period.
$150 discount code. LC250PREORDER
I preordered one today. I like the idea of having storage below vs just a leveling solution.

I assume this option keeps the rear seat in place still. The pic on the website shows it level in the rear so its hard to tell if the rear seat is still there. As we know when it is folded it is not level at all.

Yeah, that’s what I assumed as well. Seats are just flat and this fits over the jump somehow. I don’t think they have updated images yet

I read through all the posts and did not see anyone mention the Yakima MOD Homebase. It’s 7” in height which is close to the rear seat folded. Seems some 1/2” plywood properly sized and anchored would make a fine platform with storage under. Just some thoughts for those looking for a sleeping solution w/o spending much more than $1200.

I like this setup! Where can I get more information on this
We'd be happy to share more details!

Budget Leveling Solution:

$23 for a 72” x 30” x 3” camping foam mattress at Fred Meyer

$15 for a 6pk of 24” x 24” x 1” gym flooring squares at Fred Meyer (already had some of these)

$12 for a can of Gorilla Adhesive Spray (already had some)

Use the rubber cargo mat as a template and cut the foam and squares to fit, adhesive spray and dry, perfect level fit. Plan is to put the seats forward and toss an Exped on top for comfortable car camping.

Still waiting for my LC to arrive. I have noticed that the second row and trunk are not one flat platform, so certain padding arrangement will be needed. Does anybody have a good suggestion or product we can buy off-the-shelf?

Right now I am thinking to get some 2~3 inches harder memory foam to put on the trunk where the battery is. But this will have to sacrifice some amount of storage. I wonder if it is possible to build some kind of shelving system in the back so I can maximize the storage space in an elegant way
Honestly, I just had a foam shop cut a 4"+ block of firmer foam to fit the larger half of the back seat to make the rear level with the seat folded flat. I then use a thermarest and sleeping bag. Works perfectly. The other half of back area still free for storage of items.

HEST on 3/4” plywood is what I’m rolling with finally. Doesn’t need to be more complicated! Although something to neaten up the space where the little cargo compartments used to be would
Be nice

I start to think the best platform is for somebody to create these PVC or wooden compartments raising about two inches, and reuse the original cover. So people can have useful enlarged storage under. This is minimally invasive and keep the original design improved. To be honest I think Toyota should did it in the first place in their stock design.
