Brakes Squeal

Mine also does it since nearly new. Starting with a couple hundred miles on it, and now with 3000 it also does it. Pretty loud TBH.

We’re 8 pages of posts into this now and the solution seems to be bed your brakes. Have any of the squealers tried this? Has it not worked?

I bedded the brakes very early on. It was squeal free until just under 3,000 miles. It comes and goes, but it is louder and more annoying now.

It only happens when I am backing out of a parking space.

Same, I bedded in my brakes when new and no issues for the first 2,500 miles or so. I'm at 7,000 miles now and the squealing while braking in reverse seems to be here to stay. Heading back to the dealer again Monday after getting Toyota Care involved. The first time I took it in at 5,000 miles I was told it was because my brakes were dirty from driving on dirt roads. That was a lame a$$ response.

Hi everyone, if you haven't already, I would suggest opening a case with the Toyota Brand Engagement contact form? It only took me a few minutes and I also attached a video recording of the screeching.

Contact Us | Contact Toyota (scroll to the bottom of the page)

I opened a case last week and my case manager contacted me this morning for additional details. She made it sound like the more cases that are opened for this, the higher chance of it being addressed sooner.

I had it to the dealer already, but they failed to reproduce the problem (strange since it happens to me almost every morning).
Yes, I'm replying to my own post, sorry.

I just wanted to suggest to folks that haven't already, to create a case with Toyota brand engagement using the link above. It just takes a few minutes.

I got an update today from Christina (who's been great) re: my case. She was just letting me know there hasn't been any TSBs issued yet and that she'd let me know as soon as something changed. They at least seem to be taking it seriously.

Creating your own case only takes a few minutes, and it might help escalate this issue. Thanks!

I keep forgetting to do this.

I did this, the dealer contacted me and they replaced my entire braking system. It has now been about 3 weeks and 2k+ miles and there has not been the slightest noise. I would say that solved the problem.

Could you post a link on where to do this, please?

Yes, I’ve done this twice, first time I saw a immediete improvement that lasted a few days, then returned worse than ever. Did it a second time with no improvement.

Still squeak free. LOL. And it used to be bad. I have 4500 miles now and tow a trailer.

I'm not quite sure where at the bottom of the page the link is you are referring to. Can you add a little more info as to where to find the link? Thanks

Can someone pass on to me the link for Toyota Brad Management? I would like to add my LC to this growing problem. Thanks

I have a client who's away while we're renovating his house. Had to pull his backed-in newer F150 out of the garage. No noise going out, but the brakes screamed insanely loud backing it back into the garage. Now I know what everyone's talking about - and not exclusive to Toyota.

Two days ago… NO SQUEAL.

Today… Miss Daisy squealed like a dying pig.

Mines terrible. Embarrassing is an understatement. It's shrieks in reverse. I'm going in for service so we will see what they say.
