App controlled remote start question

It’s friggin cold where I live. Is there anyway other than setting the custom temp on the app to 90 degrees to get this thing to blow warm air? Even at the highest setting it doesn’t do anything to clear frost or heat the seats. Am I missing something here?

The vehicle has to warm up enough to blow hot air. I would make sure defrost is on.

There's also a setting to turn the seat warmers on. It's been cold here (15-30F) for a few weeks and I've used it and let the vehicle warm up for the full 10 minutes and it seems good to me.

Tap the ^ symbol that's right above the word Start that lets you remote start, then select Climate.

My front defrost never comes on with remote start no matter what I do. Rear defrost does however.

Yes to both

I have that on my app also. And just below that you can “save settings “. Try dragging the screen up to access climate and a bunch of other functions. Drag up from the “lock, start, unlock” area.

My heated seat option shows up sometimes and sometimes it doesn’t. I have to close the app and re-open and it usually comes back.

Yea you’re missing some options definitely. I think the app is half assed imho

The manual doesn't seem to say anything about it but it is common that seat heaters don't come on until they sense the weight of someone sitting on the seat. So even though they are turned on there is no pre-heating happening.

For sure… and no one at Toyota seems to know or care. At the dealers they know nothing about the app itself.

I’ve heard that removing the app then reinstalling it would help to clear up issues. But I think it might also clear other things as well such as xm favorite channels, seat memory settings, etc

My app has done that before it’s glitching. You can try restarting the app or restart the phone.

I’ve reinstalled the app several times.. best answer I’ve been able to get from Toyota is that they are aware of this? Is it a bit frustrating though because even when I leave these things on manually, when I remote start the car, nothing remains on.

Until your app is fixed leave the HVAC on defrost when you turn vehicle off. This countermeasure should work until app problem is resolved.
