Anyone's brakes squealing when you reverse?

It’s likely that that brake assembly just wasn’t bedded correctly. I did a few good hard braking sessions, and my brakes no longer squeal. I hear you though but tbh without a proper deposit of brake material on the rotor, your brakes will just squeal again. It’s all about the pad material and changing to new pads won’t “fix” the issue just get rid of it temporarily.
Hard braking sessions going forward I assume? The squeaking only occurs in reverse and is really loud - almost a grinding sound. But I’ll try it. The mechanic I talked to today said they had a similar issue on a pickup model last year, and ended up changing brake pad suppliers for that model…. As I told him, if this squeal persists for another couple months, I’m going to unload this truck- assuming they can get the forward/rear camera error issue sorted, been in the shop twice, 3000 miles and 2.5 months into ownership- not great.

Yep, going forwards. My vehicle is at around 2500 miles. I also had the squeal when reversing and in the morning when the temperature was cooler. Look up “proper brake bed in procedure”. This is what Google AI told me. I wasn’t able to follow it to a T but with a few good hard brakes I believe my rotors are bedded and I have not had any squealing.

  • Find a Safe Area: Choose a long, straight road with minimal traffic and no immediate turns or stops.

  • Initial Stops: Perform 3-4 medium stops from around 45 mph, slightly more aggressive than normal braking.

  • Aggressive Stops: Follow with 8-10 aggressive stops from 60 mph down to 15 mph, accelerating back up to 60 mph as soon as you've slowed down.

  • Cooling: After the stops, drive for several miles with little or no braking to allow the components to cool.

  • Repeat: You may need to repeat the process if you feel the brakes aren't performing optimally.
Do this at your own risk, I assume no responsibility, and please be safe when doing so.

There are similar reported issue on this Brake Squeal. You may refer to those topics

I am going to force them to rebuild that whole wheel's brakes- replace the calipers, pads and rotor.... brand new truck should NOT be squeaking like an old crummy jalopy..... amazing the common thread here of the dealers minimizing this complaint.
Picked up my vehicle and they've ordered in a full replacement of brake pads and rotors.

It go interesting when I asked if there's a TSB on it, and he said no, and that I'm the first one who's ever complained about anything to do with the LC. I told him the brake issue is all over the forums. He rolled his eyes and said, "Oh, the forums. Yeah, ignore the forums. I stay away from them altogether. Lotta Crazy people on there."

YES!!!! I even brought it up when I dropped off my vehicle for the transmission issue. I am pretty certain they never looked at it because they were so focused on the bigger issue/fix. Mine only sing in reverse too. It’s going back to the dealership in early March because I’d like to maintain my ear health.
Hey Annie, just a heads up that I had it in at Heninger today, and they've ordered new pads and rotors for me.
