Anyone's brakes squealing when you reverse?

Just got mine about a month ago. I have about 4000km on it. It does it virtually every time I reverse.
YES!!!! I even brought it up when I dropped off my vehicle for the transmission issue. I am pretty certain they never looked at it because they were so focused on the bigger issue/fix. Mine only sing in reverse too. It’s going back to the dealership in early March because I’d like to maintain my ear health.

I sent a message to Toyota Canada about it. Of course their first response was "Did you take it to a dealer yet? What did the dealer say?"

Do they not have people keeping a watch on these forums?? It's clearly a known issue among owners!

You’d think they would have somebody monitoring. They perhaps do anonymously. Ford used to keep an account on different models of their forums, even if the consensus was they weren’t of much help beyond making sure you’re connected with your dealer. People suspect they’re still there anonymously monitoring but without any active engagement. You’d think companies would have somebody monitoring kind of idea of how to engage on forums now on this new fangled thing we call the internet.

My 2024 LC FE has the same issue. Dealer replaced front pads and resurfaced rotors, the issue went away but is now back. I took the vehicle back today and suspect they'll replace the rear pads and resurface the rotors as well.
update: the shop refused to replace pads and rotors as they said there is no Toyota bulletin for the LC yet. They lubricated the front brakes assembly and sent the vehicle back home. The next day the brakes started squeaking again. So frustrating...

Took the car to the dealer again (for the 3rd time.) They said they called Toyota and Toyota is aware of the issue, but there is no fix currently. Anyone else having luck getting an official statement from Toyota?

I was told by someone in the aftermarket industry that the squeal is from the brake pad material and that good pads squeal. I wonder if changing the pads to a ceramic pad would fix the issue. I highly doubt having what’s being done in the Lexus tsb, ie replacing the rotors and pads, would do much as they’re the same pad material.

That said, mine have started to squeal in reverse.

I spoke with my sales rep and there is another person in Calgary she sold another LC to and he’s only had his for 2 moths and is also reporting the reverse brake squealing. I dropped my LC off this past week for its 6 month service and asked them to look at the brakes again… they gave me nothing but “try some hard braking in reverse as it could be dust” and said they couldn’t find anything (insert eye roll here…). When I told my sales rep that she said Toyota know’s about it and is looking into a fix… so I am not sure to believe, other than the squealing in my ears that is…

This is exactly the reply I'm expecting. How do they propose one exercise "hard breaking" while backing out of the garage and waking up all your neighbours in the morning?

Mine has this, basically brand new, squeaking started at 1500 miles, now 3500; horrendous squeak on reverse from left front brake- at dealer now- will report.... they are pretty clueless, uninspired.... I'm hoping they get this and the forward camera issue sorted out. Also, had car back to dealer few weeks ago, and they basically blew me off, oh, all brakes squeak in humidity... :0

Mine's in today. Will see what they come back with.

It's not so straightforward, only one of my 4 wheels squeaks- I am going to force them to rebuild that whole wheel's brakes- replace the calipers, pads and rotor.... brand new truck should NOT be squeaking like an old crummy jalopy..... amazing the common thread here of the dealers minimizing this complaint.

I have a 2024 LCLC and my brakes squeal in reverse too.
Design flaw - I hope Toyota takes responsibility and issues a remedy.

I am going to try to force them to rebuild that whole wheel's brakes- replace the calipers, pads and rotor.... brand new truck should NOT be squeaking like an old crummy jalopy..... amazing the common thread here of the dealers minimizing this complaint....OK update, NO ROTORS in stock, they'll order one, and have me come back and replace it (that will be 3rd shop visit)- when I hit 5, dumping this truck....

It’s likely that that brake assembly just wasn’t bedded correctly. I did a few good hard braking sessions, and my brakes no longer squeal. I hear you though but tbh without a proper deposit of brake material on the rotor, your brakes will just squeal again. It’s all about the pad material and changing to new pads won’t “fix” the issue just get rid of it temporarily.
