All Right - these electronics issues are starting to get me a little irritated with my new, loaded-up Land Cruiser with the Premium Package, Leather, 20" Wheels etc. It currently has about 1,400 miles.

First I had the stereo issue - which I still have which I reported here in this sub forum a couple weeks ago. The sound - whether playing, Sirius,/XM , FM or AM just quits. No sound at all. I brought the LC to the dealer to look at and was told that, according to my dealer, Toyota is aware of this issue. It has yet to be resolved or repaired and I am still waiting to hear back from the dealer in Lewisville, Texas.

The latest bit of aggravation for me with the electronics happened Saturday when my navigation screen just disappeared from the screen. I couldn't get it to come back on until later, after I had parked the LC for about an hour and, after starting it up, the navigation screen was back.

Then, while driving home, it happened again. This time the screen started to disappear from the top on down until it was fully gone except for a small arrow in the middle of the screen. After about a minute, this arrow disappeared also. Then about 10 minutes later, while still driving home, the screen popped back on and remained on until arriving home. Go figure!!!!

On Monday, I'll be taking it in to the Toyota dealership again.

Randomly, mine goes blank when I start it up. I just have to tap the screen to undo it. It does not do it every time. Glad I don't have the issue you have. I think I remember that being an issue on the Tacoma 4G site but I can't quite remember. They do share a lot of the same features.

Thanks for the info Nick.

My navigation screen goes out while driving - and at no particular time - both times it occurred after I was driving for approximately 30 minutes. It is annoying, very annoying. Especially with the other issue that I wrote about in my first post.

Volume on mine was unable to be changed, in other words the knob and steering wheel doohickey would not work. Recranked several times with no success. Got it home, turned off, then restarted and it worked. SMH. For LC money the damn radio should work!

I had it happen one time. I was able to turn the radio off and then back on with everything back to normal. The last two vehicles I have owned, 22 Silverado and 23 Tahoe, both had this issue but would actually shut completely down without warning and decided to work when they felt like it. I think it is just too much tech for a vehicle's own good.

While the car was running, I tried shutting off the radio and it didn't change a thing. I also pulled over, shut the car off, opened the door, closed the door, and started the car and that didn't work either.

Bottom line - something is not working properly. It needs to be replaced or properly repaired.

Next time it happens try pressing the volume knob in for ten seconds the release it. This should restart the infotainment system.
This is what I did. I’ve only had this happen to me one time. I powered it down and powered it back up on the volume knob no problems. If it makes anyone else feel better my 2019 Land Cruiser did this three times long spans in between I never had any problems with the unit in general nothing ever happened just some weird quirk.

JoT, I believe the system was designed properly and should operate as it was designed. Toyota has plenty of engineers and technical experts at their disposal so they should get it right and not have us non experts figuring out ways to make our $70,000 plus Land Cruisers operate they way they were intended.. This is very annoying.

Got a call from the servicing dealer today. The service manager said they couldn't duplicate the blank navigation screen issue and contacted Toyota for help. Toyota thought that maybe the radar detector or dash cam was causing some type of interference with the navigation screen. Problem is, the radar detector wasn't on when the issue occurred that day. And, I've owned the LC for three months now and haven't had this issue happen before.

After talking with the dealer, I stopped by Best Buy and met with a couple Geeks there and told them about the issue that I was having with my navigation screen and how Toyota responded with a possible source causing the problem. Both of the geeks thought the Toyota response was nonsense and neither geek said they had ever heard of an issue like this before.

My FE has 341 miles on it and yesterday the instrument cluster went blank, no blue dials at all. Thankfully the digital MPH is still working along with fuel and engine temp at the bottom but everything else is black screen. Anyone else hear of this issue?

I’ve had the map/navigation on the multi/ instrument cluster screen between the tach and Speedo a couple times. I don’t know how to get it back but it’s frustrating knowing it’s possible to have it. It only showed up after installing the Toyota app.

Have noticed periods where it's black, like it's waiting to load up or something. Rather annoying.

The next day the screen was back to normal but I noticed it lights up in a sequence now, beginning with the digital speedometer and the engine temp/fuel meters on the bottom, then the script inside the dials, and very slowly the blue dials light up. I'll have to ask the dealer if this is a known issue.

Looks like Toyota is having all kinds of issues with electronics/electric or whatever is causing all these dash and navigation screen and sound issues.

I think next week I'm going over to the Toyota corporate headquarters in Plano and see what is being done. These issues are unacceptable.

I'll make sure they see these threads, which I'm sure they have read all ready.

This is how looks like, mine has the problem probably with 400 miles and few weeks of the purchase haha I work in a dealership, I think they will replace the unit this happens a lot with the rav4 when they upgraded for the new audio multimedia, is a few LC owners that has the same problem we are waiting for one of the Toyota engineers any time this month

Hey CarlosFM, what are we waiting for? Is someone at Toyota corporate trying to figure out these issues? If so, doesn't seem to be any hurry to find a solution.

Have you tried the three-finger salute? Pressing CTRL-ALT-Del? ;)
