68-75 is very hard tire pressure with no load. They will be stiff and bumpy for sure at that p.s.i. I find my E load tires a bit bumpy with them at 33 p.s.i. I couldn't imagine them at 75 p.s.i.
It's really my favorite stance. Is there any rubbing issues with this current setup? I wish they made the stock wheels with a 35-45mm offset. I ran with the 285/70/17s on my stock 4Runner wheels, Spidertrax and an ICON 3" lift it looked like a factory option. Looks good!
The diameter may be the same or close to but with the 17" wheel you get more sidewall and a wider footprint which will equate to a softer ride and better offroad capability.
265/70/18 tire is 10.4" wide with a 7.3" sidewall
285/70/17 tire is 11.2" wide with a 7.9" sidewall
I did the same thing. I took off the CRUISER badge and saw the pin holes. DOH! Now I have a $32.00 new badge on order to replace it. If I recall the 4Runner rear badge was the same. It had pin holes as well. I guess that's Toyota's way of keeping their branding visible. I was able to stick it...
The articulation for a stock vehicle is truly impressive.
Thanks for posting this. I have a Dusty Trails that I'm putting 285/65/18 Falken AT4Ws in a SL load on with the same wheels (when they finally get here). I thought about going 285/70/18s but without many lift options yet, other then...
I love the SCS F5 wheels. I had a set on my 2010 4Runner build and they were great. I only wish they offered some more options with the offset. I don't want to poke out past the fenders on the LC. Also, I just moved to New Hampshire where you could fail a safety inspection for to much poke.
I have a feeling I will be replacing many a windshield with the LC. The verical angle of the windshield is very much like the Jeep and the Jeep owners are the windshield replacement companies best customers. I was really surprised how I had only driven it for a month and already had to replace...
Depends on how much weight they will be carrying if they are overlanding. Most of the overland rigs I've seen have a rake when they aren't loaded down but still have performance when they are.
I removed it day one. It came right off with no heat gun or dental floss. I used a little goo gone and a microfibre cloth to remove any residue from the adhesive.
The J250 in North America only comes with one engine option so I didn't see the need to differentiate. Plus it just looked silly to...
I prefer the 703s but you are the one that looks at your truck first thing when you come out to drive it. lol
I don't think the 10 lbs. of total weight difference will be noticed. You will notice the weight of a heavier, bigger tire however. Dissent Offroad said they were impressed with the...
No, it's not a fast truck that is for sure. But, what I do really appreciate is the torque. I cruise around hills where I live all day long and the RPMs at 1.5 without down shifting much is awesome. The off road ride is really nice. The suspension seems to soak up the bumps. IMO it drives a...
I wouldn't go lower then a +25mm offset unless you are planning on trimming and cutting a bunch of your vehicle or going with a lift kit.

Here's a great website that lets you play around with different tire sizes and offsets and shows you the MPG differences.
Yes, now that I see these pictures I'm thoroughly convinced you made the perfect choice. I'm doing the same thing with my Dusty Trails FE. That looks brawny but not over the top. Looks amazing.
Yes, the 265/70/18 is stock tire size. I didn't want to mess with RPM and a lot of other engineering that went into the decision for Toyota to go with that size. I'm toying with the decision to go a little wider to get a little more footprint when aired down. 285/65/18 does this while keeping...
What tire size is this? Perfect stance IMO. Nicely done.
Doh, nevermind, I just saw your original post. 285/65/18s with the Tacoma TRD wheel (that I have coming in a week). I have 265/70/18 KO3s on the stock wheels right now but I think the setup you have is just right without a lift. I'm not...
That looks mean as hell. Glad to see that 17s work on the LC. I'll most likely go with 33" tires if I can get 17s on it. Waiting to see what aftermarket suspension has to offer in a while before I go with wheels and new tires. I don't want a 3" lift and may have to have custom coilovers and...
They are fine. I did notice that they are stiffer then the stock tires and you'll feel the bumps a little more than the stock tires but knowing that I have tires that won't get punctured as easily on trails and less roll in turns is great for me.
I was taking my new LC through the car wash todday and my windshield cracked. I think it may have been a rock chip combined with the temperature change that killed it but man am I bummed. I've barely owned it since late July and cannot find a windshield place that even offers the 2024 LC windshield.
