Quality Control Delays!!

I’ve got deposits at two different dealerships, in two different states for Heritage Blue, Land Cruiser trim level, premium package with 20” wheels.

Got a call from both dealerships stating my VIN was “randomly” selected for quality control.

Coincidence? I will not be playing the lottery today…

My dealer pulled mine off Toyota and their dealer site immediately after my deposit was out down (May). It’s been kind of annoying to have zero insight without making a phone call.
I've had a deposit down for a while, but today it was taken down, but there was no availability update.

I was at the dealer last Friday and mine is waiting for a truck at the rail head. She mentioned a few days once it arrives as they were part of the ransomware and everything needs to be done at the RMV by hand. Mass RMV is busy with giving undocumented drivers free licenses so it takes a while.

Thanks.. I didn’t know that. One of the guys on YouTube, David on the ‘Automotive Engineer’ channel, said in one of his many videos, that the FE’s were made at the Tahara plant, along side with the GX’s, and the others were built elsewhere. But I still wonder why the NHTSA website said that there was an error in my VIN number?

Error Text: 4 - VIN corrected, error in one position only (indicated by ! in Suggested VIN), multiple matches found; 14 - Unable to provide information for some of the characters in the VIN, based on the manufacturer submission.
I believe someone else has reported this error on the NHTSA website as well. No clue as to the reason. David is wrong. You can go on toyota.com/search-inventory and see many RK First Editions. As well as R5 versions of the other trims. Both facilities make all of the trims.

Do you mind posting a pic from the drivers seat? Seen some pics online where it was sticking down pretty far into the drivers view. Maybe it was bad installs.
Go to You Tube video toyota land cruiser 2024 integrated dashcam and it shows virtually same thing on a Tundra.

Any idea how long these are taking to be processed after QC hold is lifted? My estimated delivery dates are starting to creep further out. 7/1-7/5 is now 7/5-7/10

I just got a two week delivery window starting 3 days post my QC lift. Dealership is in Chiraq.

Mine is further out tonight as well

7/3-7/11 turned into 7/5-7/11 today on smart path. No word from my dealer yet anyway. I’d be amazed if it arrives next week. Not holding my breath!

Within 100 miles of me 2 days ago there were 3 LC/FE trims. Today there are over 30. Theyre coming. They might just be getting adjusted a little bit as the backlog filters out.

Got the “call” this morning. I emphasized to not drill the front plate on. Canceled all of the day’s meetings and I arrived at Kearny Mesa Toyota at 2pm. I Chopped it up with the finance guy and got the overview from the sales dude. Whole process took about an hour. Enjoy your taco Tuesday and the pix

20” don’t look too bad. I’m expecting my LC Premium with the 20s in the next couple weeks and I may just add some snow rated AT tires and rock those till next spring while I decide on an 18” wheel tire setup.
Personally think the 20 inch look much better than the 18. I get the comments about off roading etc.

Picked it up yesterday from our dealer (Family Toyota of Arlington) in DFW. LC with Premium package, underground color.
Dealer was great to work with, ask for Lisa Hope, she was fabulous.
This color is so beautiful!
🤩 side profile plez, this is my pkg as well .. nearly zero piks of underground
Congrats !

Asked the dealer again yesterday on my LC FE that I put a deposit down on. They reiterated that it’s not a QC issue. They were waiting for parts for the options that this FE has. I don’t know what to believe now. If it is a QC issue, did anyone get an official answer? Dealer said the air bag issue was with the Highlander, not the FE. Appreciate any insight.

I would tend to believe that the airbag issue is with the Highlander because I had a local dealer tell me the same thing last week. He said that there is a sell hold on the Grand Highlander due to an airbag problem.

Thanks!
Here is a short video clip I uploaded:

Thanks for the video. I love the grey 18" wheels on the Land Cruiser grade (vs. the black 18" wheels on First Edition). And I still prefer the rectangular headlights (vs. round). PS: I'd remove the hybrid badge and dealer sticker from the back (for a cleaner look). I plan to do that with my incoming Meteor Shower Land Cruiser (LC grade).
