I am only getting 16-17 mpg in Eco mode. Seems about 5 mpg less than expected. What are you getting?

I am in Dallas also, just curious because I want to compare with someone that sits in the same traffic lol. I am going about 5 miles each way from lovers/central area to uptown for work and getting 17.2 on average each tank. Are you driving into town from the burbs or have a similar commute? I also have the FE roof rack which probably discounts my MPG a little from yours.I get about 18 when making highway trips on interstate at 75+. I feel like we could have used a 10 speed transmission because at that speed I am running over 2000 RPM. Combined city and highway for me around 20. I have driven it with my purse and the best I can do is 22 down hill both ways.
My commute in the mornings is about 90% highway and in the evenings is a little stop and go. I think the sweet spot is about 60 MPH but you would get a bunch of fingers at that speed in Dallas.I am in Dallas also, just curious because I want to compare with someone that sits in the same traffic lol. The estimates are frustratingly wrong but I think it is important to consider that this engine is predominantly about performance, not efficiency. There is a lot of low end torque, which is great for accelerating and for driving off-road but not for gas mileage. I know this will touch nerves for some members of this forum, but if you drive like a normal person and are considerate to other drivers you simply will not get the kind of mileage that's possible in closed-world testing. This is frustrating. I expected the new 4cyl to provide much better mileage than the NA 6cyl. Class action suit seems warranted.
that actually makes me feel pretty good about my 17.2 on such short trips with about 60% hwy. surprised that you get similar results with jeep and bronco though. I guess your majority hwy miles keep everything pretty leveled out where more city miles favor the LC hybrid. My commute in the mornings is about 90% highway and in the evenings is a little stop and go. Blended 70/30 City and Highway I have been recording 14 L/100 Km which is approximately 17 mpg. I was hoping for slightly better.I am only getting 16-17 mpg in Eco mode. Seems about 5 mpg less than expected. What are you getting?
