Not used to the attention this thing is getting

I stopped at a Whole Foods parking lot and went shopping. I came back to the LC with lunch and since it was cool out I decided to sit in my car and eat without turning it on. Now, my windows are tinted at 30% all around and I had the sun shade on the windshield so you cannot see inside unless you come real close. Well, at least 3-4 people as they were going to their car stopped and walked all around the LC taking a good look. One guy decided he wanted to see what the inside looked like so he put his face up to the driver side window and was startled to find I was in there looking back at him 😂

Same here. Lots of double takes, smiles and confused looks on the road. Some folks even look down or away to conceal their lustful eyes. I drive through an affluent neighborhood on my way home from work and every other car i pass is a land rover and those folks always look hard.
They look hard because they just spent $7500 on a break job on the Rover after 15,000 miles

The beauty part of the Land Cruiser has always been its one-of-a-kind vehicle that is both prestigious to own as a Land Cruiser and also an every day "common" name as Toyota. This is why it is generally purchased by subtlety financially comfortable people. It's not generally purchased by flashy fly-by-nights with loans up to their eyebrows.

The flash buyers love the name brands and the big logos. Big hat and no cattle. The Range Rover, Escalade, Mercedes G, Bentley, etc.

In this day and age and strange economy, people know the flash is generally all show and no go.

People are not interested in seeing other people brag and blow. They are interested in their own lives and trying to get by. You will do much better in life by being low key, polished, and subtle.

The Land Cruiser ticks all the boxes for being subtle and known for what it represents.
'Money talks, wealth whispers'

I had a 2005 4Runner and I will never forgot that the 1st brake job was at 90k miles!
I once had to change the wiper blades on a 4Runner. They are absolute unreliable junk. The smart people go for Range Rover and never look back. Land Rover/Range Rover is known for their excellent reliability and outstanding resale value....literally no depreciation.

Lots of looks, attention, and conversations started here in Los Angeles with the Land Cruiser :)

Absolutely correct.

Land Rover/Range Rover is where it’s at. You never have to replace brakes, windshield wipers, or even change the oil and filter.

You simply replace the entire vehicle at 15,000 miles and send the old one off for recycling.

My next door neighbor had one. It spent at least one week a month in the shop.

I received attention the minute I left the dealership, someone stopped me to ask me which dealership did I get it from.
You call it attention, I see it as love!

Drove down to Denver area yesterday and back. Had 3 different people talk to me about the LC.

One nice lady complimented me on the beautiful Land Rover. I couldn’t be rude and correct her, so later I just reassured the LC that’s it’s really a Toyota and she didn’t mean it and didn’t know any better.

I'm glad I found this thread because I've been getting the same looks and reactions. I went into a dispensary In Mass. and my husband stayed in the car. These two women who pulled up in a pretty cool 4 runner were checking out my car, and my husband says that one walked right up to the back to see what it is and then mouthed to her friend "it's a Land Cruiser".😂
And I drove a bmw for over 20 years, as well as a volvo.

That's a great color combination. I didn't know that was an option. My car is straight black, and it's generated a lot of interest. I also checked out the GX 550, and personally preferred the front end on the LC, although I was a little hesitant with the turbo hybrid 4 vs the turbo 6. In retrospect, I like the drivetrain and mileage. Either is a good looking vehicle, but I've seen more GXs around that LCs. Toyota got this one more right than the new 4Runner, at least in my opinion.
I also don't like the front end of the GX, and I think the LC is WAY more beautiful and refined, I don't care how many bells and whistles The GX has.

I would get looks and conversations everyday the first few months. Now in my area I see them everywhere so I think they are becoming a little ubiquitous. I bet when the new runner drops you'll see way more of those than new landys on the road.

And why is that? Genuinely curious.

Because seemingly way too many of them can’t accomplish merging into other lanes of traffic in a construction zone with ample advanced warning that the lane they are in ends in 2 miles. Thus bringing lanes on I-25 to a complete halt.

I can’t be friends with people like that.

They probably kick puppies, hate ‘Merica, love pop country music, and don’t return their shopping carts in a parking lot. They’re no better than animals.

That's entertaining.

Here in Arizona—no comments, questions, or second looks.
Too bad I guess… I get people looking, walking around, looking inside, and double taking…soooooooooo it’s here in Arizona. I have had numerous vehicles in my life, to include sports cars and 4Runners and by far this is my favorite vehicle. Don’t hate me there are too many 4 runners and Tacomas on the road… I get why but I like vehicles that are less on the road but great!
