Thanks for the info! I've had my deposit in at an out of city dealer since the very beginning, thinking I'd side-step the long waiting lists, but unfortunately didn't account for the drastically fewer deliveries they'd receive. Found the exact one I'd been waiting for at a dealer in Edmonton, but literally just as I'd texted the salesman back to accept the final terms, he told me another salesman came into the sales office with a deposit in hand.I was lucky I guess as I visited a dealer that had exactly what I wanted in the lot due to a cancelation. Before I went to the dealers I did look online and there were a number of non Calgary dealers that were offering at MSRP. I went to the largest south Calgary dealer with the tower and test drove one and when I said I wanted to buy they opened at $12,500 over list and I walked.
I have had excellent service and buying experience at Canyon Creek.
I have a stripped roof 1958 but I have added gamiviti towers and Alu cab rails for the ski season. ( and for summer canoes) There is wind fluttering noise without the ski box but mileage has only dropped marginally with blizzaks and the rack. 10.5 lph to 11.1 lph city.
I don’t get the full time full racks but roof racks rule in terms of providing more flexibility.
Yea. I get that. But at my age, there’s not a lot of ‘ruggedness’ left in me. I rather have a quiet ride, and better fuel economy.I may be in the minority, however, I like the appearance of a roof rack on any SUV. Adds a rugged appearance. However, I like the old school appearance of Land Cruiser / Land Rover.
In fact, I am adding Thule cross bars to add an additional layer of rack.
However, I would never actually my roof rack as I don't want to get it dirty....
They have been posted somewhere on this forum before. But I would have no idea where…Are there specific parts and part numbers for the FE rack delete? I like the look of no rack as well but don't want holes and gaps up top. Keep us posted on parts needed for this.
I have a roof rack, because i got a "premium" package. Did removing the cross bars reduce the wind noise significantly?I removed the cross bars but kept the side rails so I can pull myself up, and step on the rear tire so I can wipe the roof after I wash it!
I don’t car camp, but I would like to try it one day. My rifles and other gear fit inside. I guess keeping the rails is largely hobby-dependent.
Thanks! Is this what you're looking for
Yes.I have a roof rack, because i got a "premium" package. Did removing the cross bars reduce the wind noise significantly?

Yes, the Wingbar Evo bars were the ones I was considering. Yours looks great. Is there any issue with fitting them correctly?
How is the wind noise?
Did you consider the 50" bars as well? Would be flush with the sides and perhaps even less wind noise?
What are you comparing to? The roof rack on the FE, or the roof rails on the standard trim?Yes.
I ended up with 57” (1450mm) which is a little wider than the gutter. I used the two middle mounting points not the most rearward. No, I just went for 53". I considered 60" too but couldn't find any locally for a good deal.

Edit: See EOD Guys post in this thread..
Unfortunately EOD post only shows the trim pieces and does not include the rubber grommets are plastic bolts to seal the holes. I have not been able to find the delete kit part number and my dealer doesn’t know.
I am disappointed with mine...the noise is not so bad but the rail mountings are fixed and too close for carrying long loads, eg a kayak. Also the tailgate fouls the long load so cannot open. Not sure about the fuel economy hit. Many have reported the roof rack substantially increases wind noise, and of course affects fuel economy a tad. Would it be an issue in some car washes? Not for me...
Does anyone have a photo of a LC without a roof rack ? I have slight wind noise…. But not really noticeable. I do agree, I may NEVER use these but I like how they look.
