MPG

I'll wait until my mpgs level off before I call Toyota this or that. With 21 tanks and no change to my driving style, each month's average is better than the last. 18.4 in August, 19.3 in September and 20.1 in October so far. I have no illusions this will go to Prius levels, but I suspect it's going to be good enough, all things considered.

The LC and Prius have two entirely different types of hybrid systems.

Hello MPG thread, I've had my LCLC since the end of August and was getting pretty decent milage at the beginning (23.5mpg). Since then, it's gone down and I'm averaging around 17.6mpg (I converted it to Freedom Units). I'm not very impressed, but at the end of the day it's not a huge thought for me UNLESS there is something actually wrong with the truck. I'm at 2000mi.

Can anyone tell me how the hybrid should be assisting exactly? I turned on the Max gauge and the only time I see it is when I'm feathering the gas after it's shut off at a light for a bit. Should it be going on all acceleration or just heavy acceleration? I also don't find it very consistent. Truck warms up and the hybrid barely kicks in unless I've been stopped at a light for a little while. I dunno, just thought it would do more.

I'm in the same boat. Its a double whammy this time of year, winter blend fuel and the extra time it takes for the hybrid system to meet specifications to engage means lower MPG IMO.

Using 93 octane ethanol free fuel, I am still getting 24+ mpg. When I first picked up Miss Daisy from the dealership, on my first fill up, the Toyota computer told me that I had ~316 miles to empty, which has increased with each fill up. Today, the computer told me I had 369 miles until empty.

91 Octane (No 93 octane available at our 4K altitude) I feel is worth the trade-off, but the cost of ethanol-free is prohibitive hereabouts.

I have paid $3.49 to $4.99 per gallon here for the 93 octane fuel. Today, it was $4.49 per gallon for the 93 octane.
