LC250 Rock Sliders List

Man, I'd like that RCI if it was the width of the kick out portion, but all the way to the front. A lot of these have some real goofy looking decks, if you want to use it as a step too. I'd like some that look like Tremor/Raptor running boards, the Gohino look good, but I have heard bad things about their quality. I know, not rock sliders.
That’s essentially the CBI slider. It’s about 0.5” narrower than the RCI kickout. I posted pictures above.

We have RCI rock sliders in our garage currently. 5 degrees with deck. Waiting on better weather next week to remove the OEM steps and skid plates that came with the LC then do an oil change. Currently have 530 miles on the motor.

I then plan on using a sprinkler on the underside of the LC to clean off any crud and apply Fluid Film when dry. The RCI's will be installed along with a Victory 4x4 engine skid plate which too is on site.

I will update when complete.

I think one of Westcott's YouTube videos mention drilling is optional for more sturdiness. Not necessary. It was a comment reply.

I ordered CBI through yotagarage...suppose to be about 6 weeks. It's been delayed by CBI.
I had Westcott sliders installed without drilling the frame; they have ample strength and
stability for step use. Westcott materials and workmanship are awesome.

As someone I know always says, different strokes for different folks. A few reasons, it’s tuck and flush, max clearance and eliminating that common gap, which means it doesn’t stick out as far, less overall material, thus resulting in 88lb total for the pair. Hard to beat that weight.

It’s not for everyone, and that’s perfectly ok. That’s the great part about having an aftermarket support that you can pick and choose from.

The trimming part isn’t any different than trimming for front bumper, rear bumper, fitting larger tires, etc.

Attached is the gap I’m taking about as a reference.
Certainly people can choose whatever product suits them, but at that point I'd personally just stick with the OEM rock rails and call it a day, since they also tuck up close. 'Ripping off' tabs and/or cutting trim for sliders just seems unnecessary.

Got the Greenlane step/sliders and very happy with the purchase. Easy to install (about an hour, but could cut that in half if you jack the car up), well made, and the look I wanted. No issues with tariffs, but I ordered before 4/4, so not sure if that played a part. From order to delivery about 3 weeks. If you go this route, just follow the video on youtube to install. One note, there was one more frame plug than referenced in the video where the large bolt passes through the frame, but we just used the large bolt to push it out. Next up: rims and wheels and skid plate.

Nice look !
Can you tell me if these Greenlane sliders are the same width as the Original running boards ? I'm asking since I would like to keep the same, or a reasonable step function.

In my case not quite as wide except for the bump out, but still plenty wide enough to use as a step. I got the 12.5 degree angled ones though, the flat ones would be a little wider.

Thanks. This is a 1958, so didn't come with running boards. That said, I would guess that these are narrower. There's about 4.5" of step surface with these. It's fine for me to step into and out of the car, but I don't think my 80 YO parents could manage it. I'd guess based on the running boards I've seen on around-town models give more step surface.

My ~80 YO parents are much of the reason I got the bump out, for the extra step width in the back.

You are a kinder son than me - no bump out. See you are in the Bay Area. I grew up in Campbell, where my folks still live - I'm in MI now.

The Greenlane is nice but how does it function as rock slider? Steel has a much higher tensile strength compared to aluminum, so will the greenlane actually hold up again a rock or will it bent/crack?

I saw a post on another site that said they would do fine with the occasional bump and light rub, for serious terrain they would prevent serious damage, but would get pretty distorted and beat up. I took that to mean that for most of us they would be fine, but dont expect a truly capable rock slider that can be used to pivot the vehicle during technical runs. Now you have second hand internet experience.

Anyone else notice that Victory 4x4 jacked the price of their sliders up? Nearly a 40% increase

Makes you think, convenient price hike in line with tariffs.

Previous price- listed at beginning of the thread at $1499 and new price $2199. +300 for aluminum on both pricing models.

Pretty ridiculous if you ask me.

If you plan to regularly slide over rocks on purpose, get steel. If you want some protection just in case, aluminum should be fine. My FJ had aluminum sliders and that worked fine for what I used it for. Greenlane says these will hold the weight of the vehicle.

Depending on where they get their materials from, and that the new taxes just went into effect, they could well be just passing along the cost. Or they could be jacking up prices just because? My personal preference is that manufacturers would list this separately as they currently do with all taxes so it's clear to the consumer what the price is vs. the additional cost from taxes.

Not entirely sure here- they were just at 1499 a few days ago. In theory, tariffs should not be effecting them. Their website states their products are made in the USA + in their faq page it states they get their metal from:

“What type of steel and aluminum do you use? Where is it sourced?
For steel plate and bar we use A36, steel tubing is A500, aluminum is 5052 (unless specified.) We always look to buy USA made steel and aluminum, but we will use Canadian sourced products if there are any supply issues.”

With that being said, the steel for these specific sliders could be coming from Canada but regardless, it’s a ~38% increase.

They updated their site with lots of Made in USA logos now too. They are local to me and while they make nice stuff, the service and the people are not the best. They are jeep people that spun up a second name for other platforms.

Over 2k for sliders is ridiculous and they require drilling.

Yeah, I’ll make sure to never order anything from them. I liked what they did with the front bumper for the GX and was waiting for what they’d come up with for the LC, but there’s clearly something going on- to raise MSRP on those by $700 practically overnight should tell us something about them.

I will continue to order things from them if it's a good design and good value. We simply don't know if they are impacted by the importing tariffs. Could be material. Could be certain parts. It's tough for the manufacturing industries at times like these. Now there are certain things that are ridiculously priced from the get go. Like the fender flares from NYTOP.

Now for rock sliders, personally I would not buy the ones from Victory simply because of the design. I don't see it being significantly useful for the intended purpose. It creates a lower clearance. Bulky. Not exactly an upgrade from anything OEM. More of a glorified side step. So because of that, it's a pass for me.
