+1 for adding OEM sliders to the list. I’m leaning towards those because they’re minimal and low profile and can be had much cheaper than the others, especially during a 25% off parts sale.

I think one of Westcott's YouTube videos mention drilling is optional for more sturdiness. Not necessary. It was a comment reply. With this, and the one other brand (Westcott) where they want you to drill holes in your frame, it feels like maybe they wanted to just reuse an existing design maybe, and didn't realize something didn't quite fit?
Does the RCI connect to the body instead of the frame in the back?Well I currently have a set of RCI 5 degree and CBI without kickout in my garage so thought I’d give some thoughts and comparisons.
Fit: CBI are wider. From frame to outside edge is 15”. RCI are about 14” for the front and 16 or so for the kickout. Both make acceptable steps but CBI are a little wider for the front passengers. CBI are also 4” longer front to back (70” vs 66”). So for back passengers, the no kickout, CBI might still be a better step. They both sit at about the same height. Removable top plate on RCI vs welded on for CBI.
Design: I can’t really decide which I like better. Personal preference but I think both look good.
Finish: both are quality builds, nice welds, quality material. RCI are powder coated and seems very high quality, nice texture. We’ll see how it holds up. CBI are raw (I usually prefer to rattle can for easy touch ups).
Install: CBI are much much easier to install. Better requires drilling or cutting. RCI uses a channel and a few extra bolts through the frame. Probably a little sturdier? However CBI seemed to be very stout when mounted.
Price: RCI are cheaper and customer service has been top notch. CBI had a lengthy lead time and I haven’t dealt with customer service so can’t comment on that.
I decided to keep the RCI sliders but really was 50/50 on which to keep. Let me know if you have any other questions. CBI are still up for sale! Located in Cheyenne, WY if anyone’s interested.
No they are both entirely frame mounted.Does the RCI connect to the body instead of the frame in the back?
Does the RCI require any drilling?

Updated!Onyx,
Also add BudBuilt slider, Bud had been making armor for Toyotas for forever. Definitely top end for performance, strength and craftsmanship. Can’t review them personally, I’m still shopping. BudBuild Sliders LC250
As someone I know always says, different strokes for different folks. A few reasons, it’s tuck and flush, max clearance and eliminating that common gap, which means it doesn’t stick out as far, less overall material, thus resulting in 88lb total for the pair. Hard to beat that weight.I honestly can't imagine cutting the trim of my vehicle just to install sliders! I'm not sure the reason as to why this should be necessary, but perhaps they should update the design so it is not necessary.
Which brand sliders are these? Give us a brief review please. As someone I know always says, different strokes for different folks. It’s not for everyone, and that’s perfectly ok. That’s the great part about having an aftermarket support that you can pick and choose from.
The trimming part isn’t any different than trimming for front bumper, rear bumper, fitting larger tires, etc.
Attached is the gap I’m taking about as a reference. View attachment 32453
Those are CBI it’s their stock photo onlineWhich brand sliders are these? Give us a brief review please.
Those are CBI. I posted some comments on them above comparing to RCI. Also have them for sale. As he says there is a bit of a gap. Same as the RCI. But they are beefy! I ordered two sets to hopefully have at least one before an upcoming trip. Sadly both were ready at same time and I couldn’t cancel one.Which brand sliders are these? Give us a brief review please.
The photo is just a reference of the gap I was referring to as a response to why CA Tuned Offroad decided to have a flush style rock slider to maximize clearance, reduce the overall size which means less overall weight compared to other brands. 88lbs for the pair compared to others that weigh 125-200lbs. That’s all. Hope that makes sense.Which brand sliders are these? Give us a brief review please.
Do yo know what those did different so they don't have to trim the plastic trim pieces? The photo is just a reference of the gap I was referring to as a response to why CA Tuned Offroad decided to have a flush style rock slider to maximize clearance, reduce the overall size which means less overall weight compared to other brands. 88lbs for the pair compared to others that weigh 125-200lbs. There are a couple people who have installed them without cutting the trim piece as well. FYI.
Here’s a side by side comparison. View attachment 32462View attachment 32463
