LC250 Rock Sliders List

this is a great idea, compiling a list that can be added to over time, as more products become available. that being said, who's gonna sticky this? and also who's gonna create a similar thread for front bumpers, rear bumpers, suspension options, etc? be nice to have a master list of what's out there for each of the major categories (as long as someone else does the work! lol)

i do have a question, of all the slider/step options out there, do any of them retain the factory courtesy light at the rear of the step?

Likely not, judging by their thin supports and mounting points, I wouldn't trust the vehicle's weight on em. It matters if your truck is lifted and the traditional piston jacks don't offer the height needed, also matters to those who like carrying hi-lift/farm jacks, or in situations where you don't have flat ground under you or where you can't use the the frame, etc.
I believe they are designed to keep the weight as that's the whole point of rock rails (don't quote me on this), but they are definitely not designed as jack points

It appears that the NYTOP can accommodate the factory light (although the mounting location is not optimal if you will actually use them as a slider) while Slee sells a separate 4 light package.

Iโ€™ve got the CBI powder coated w/kickouts sitting in my garage awaiting removal of plastic steps and install. I ordered these back in November and they arrived just this month. Iโ€™ll share pics once I get them installed. I was given an estimate of $250 at a dealership for removal/install so Iโ€™m patiently waiting until I go in for 5k mile service.

For CA Tuned Offroad sliders, they are one of the lightest steel options in the market weighing in about 88 lbs for the pair.

Below are the picture of the trim pieces that need to be cut. There are some people who have installed the Rocksliders without actually trimming it at all.

I want those Slee. To me they seem to combine the best of both worlds.
I love my Slee sliders! (click the link to go to my post)

If this matters to you, the Slee sliders taper at the back, creating a portion of the step that is not as wide. When I've tried using it, no problem. If you have kids, maybe they won't pay attention and miss the step? It's possible. I teach anyone new to my LC how to properly use the step/slider to get in and out. It makes a big difference and will cut down on wear and tear on the seats, too. Here's what I show them:
1. Use inside hand to grasp the handle inside the door (not the door!)
2. Place outside foot on slider.
3. Pull up and step inside comfortably.

I remind everyone to reverse the process getting out. It seems a bit weird stepping backwards out of the LC at first, but it is the safest and most effective way to get out.

Add: ASFIR 4x4 sliders. Iโ€™ll be installing them this week and will report back.

It might make sense to add the OEM rock sliders to the list. I have 'em and installed myself. Very well made / great value and they more than meet my needs.

From RCI:

Thanks so much for reaching out, we are stoked you are considering RCI!
Those rock siders weigh 53lbs per slider.
Let me know if there is anything else I can assist you with.

Thanks!

I honestly can't imagine cutting the trim of my vehicle just to install sliders! I'm not sure the reason as to why this should be necessary, but perhaps they should update the design so it is not necessary.

I think they are going for tucked in and maximum clearance, but yeah I agree.

This right here. I am sure there are ways to make them tucked in without having to trim the plastic pieces. I hope they update their design.

With so many other good options where I dont have to trim my rig, Ca tuned is an absolute non starter.
With this, and the one other brand (Westcott) where they want you to drill holes in your frame, it feels like maybe they wanted to just reuse an existing design maybe, and didn't realize something didn't quite fit?

I feel like some of these companies are trying to push products out as fast as possible, using older designs and just rebrand it as a new product. Hopefully they update them properly.
