Curious is anyone has read / heard anything about a LC Platinum Edition being offered in the near future.

Now that the FE is done, I think a Platinum Edition would be a welcomed addition.

It really would not need anything significant added....Perhaps fully color matched bumpers and a different 20" wheel. The rest of the truck is all quite premium.

Yes yes, non- hybrid, nice dual turbo v6, soccermom car be gone, sign me up.

I could foster this rumor, with extremely indirect evidence. The owner of our dealership grabbed their first and only First Edition, drives it around town, but has never licensed it. Does he know something? :)

Yes by not licensing it he doesn’t personally have to insure it he can claim it’s the dealerships loaner vehicle.

Good points! The owner of the dealership is a LC collector, and has some nicely restored vintage models.

I would think another Heritage Edition type trim would be more likely in the USA. There would be too much overlap with the GX550 Luxury for a Platinum or Limited trim imo.

The only things to add beyond the premium package would be automatic running boards, message seats, some additional fake chrome badges, and a giant ferring underneath the front number to ruin off roading. 😀

I hear the sarcasm, but trust me, when my age (83), automatic running boards would be welcome. Also, they typically fold higher than the fixed running boards, for additional ground clearance.

And just our luck, would sport 21" or 22" wheels. Nope!

Honestly I hope Toyota doesn’t make a platinum lc. I don’t want them going down that path of limited, sport, trd, sr5, pro, trailhunter, etc….
I would rather see them do away with the 1958, have 1 landcruiser with several configurations.
They should make the 1958 "Toyota Land Cruiser Prado edition" to make Youtubers mad.

This is great. I think they were hoping for a stripped down version of the LC300 with the same starting price…with leather and power seats, of course…

I saw a Toyota Tacoma advertisement on TV a few days ago, which showed automatic running boards deploying. I hope we can bastardize them to work on our trucks.

Surely something will soon appear on the aftermarket? My question would be, is the wiring there?

Now that you mention this you really make me want to put some TRD Pro or Trailerhunter logo on my land cruiser and drive it around at work just to break people's minds and mess with them a bit lol. I fully agree having the "1958" edition be the base configuration and then have the step up (LC/LC Base w/e you want to call it) and then have different packages thrown on that you want. Because again I'd totally be the guy that would throw every package on it so I can have the iForce-Max-TRD-Limited-Pro-Trailhunter lol.

If they ever add massage I would legit throw money to have them put in my LC. It is the one thing that would absolutely just top my list of additions to my LC. I know the GX got them on the upper trim and my friend was pushing me so hard to get that because jokingly we do long road trips and would be amazing, but cost and MPG didn't want that direction of my choices. If the LC actually added massage seats I would fling any type of money (in reason) at them to be installed!
