Android user - trying to use Android auto. it is a mystery which interface shows up.

some times my phone connects other times it wont.

i customized my dashboard settings and low and behold reset to original.

anyone having same connection issues?
any ideas?

Mine will not connect to my Android Auto maybe 5% of the time and gives me the default Nav screen. It's not consistent or often enough for me to figure out why.

My wife's iPhone connects seamlessly every time. I'm 50/50 with my Android for music and only 25% for getting the map to show on the screen.

When the map does show it sometimes goes to the right of the screen and sometimes to the left. This is all while using Amazon music. I have not been able to figure out how to switch the sides of the screen. If it goes to the right the map view is tiny.

I have the LC trim with premium package and am using Android auto. I connect with the cable to the data port (no documentation on difference here) and my issue is when the phone connects, I can't select Sirus radio source until I have launched Android Auto and then navigated back to the source button. It wants to stream whatever last was played from my phone apps. Very annoying. I am curious how much over the air updates happen with Toyota vehicles? Do upgrades have to be initiated by dealer or is this transparently done over cellular connection? If the latter, are we notified of it?

It took me an hour with the shop foreman in my car to connect my phone. It was PITA but its working now WTF Toyota
