FYI 2025 Landcruiser Premium does not come with Sway Bar Disconnect as standard

Picked up mine on the 11th and it came with the SDM. I would have bought it with out though. 99% of my off roading will be to get to hunting spots or dog training spots.

Thanks for this sdm opinion, If you can't easily feel the difference in your example, i probably wouldn't either. i'm hoping my reserved LC arrives with the sdm, but if not i will probably just accept as is at this point. Supposed to arrive in about a week.
Thanks for everyone's input.
Did you take delivery and get a chance to take it off road at all yet? How as the experience?

Yes we've had it offroad and it is extremely comfortable driving offroad compared to a lifted wrangler- which isn't really a fair comparison. Only petty complaint i have is that the SDM reengages automatically at about 18mph, so constantly having to press button to disengage on fire roads or drive slower, 1st world problem. The sdm noticeably helps with head toss at least, so im happy to have it.
Otherwise, i was thoroughly impressed with capability. Drove part way up a steep rocky hill with hardly any wheel slip- i feel sdm really helped. I had to back down it because of overgrowth. I tried crawl mode in reverse and it worked okay to stay in control i guess. Never had this feature before. Wrangler did this hill easily too, but with more wheel slip and far less anxiety (paint ruined already)

I was worried about ground clearance over many obstacles but ended up being unwarranted. We didnt scrape nearly as much as i expected. I drive reserved and l sense that "sending it" over rough terrain will result in bashing the underside since the suspension compresses significantly as the vehicle drops off obstacles.

I'm still completely stock under the body and didnt remove any plastics for the trip. I have the stock Nitto graplers.
The mud guards all worked well keeping muck and gravel off the paint too which is great.

My new LC Premium that was delivered on Friday, February 21st does not have SDM. I'm not too concerned about it. One less thing to go wrong;) I don't intend to do any heavy crawling but if I do i have a 2018 4 Runner for that.

I just bought the LC Premium on Feb 23 and mine doesn't have SDM. I haven't gone off-roading before so I don't even know how to use all those off-roading buttons . I will try some light off-roading but mostly this will be driven on the roads.

Any idea on what the "born on date" is? Mine came off the line on 4 Dec 2024, still had SDM

Jan 2025 Production Date. Not sure where to find when it came off the line. My LC had a blank spot for button where others had SDM.

I don't think Toyota provides anything more specific than production month and year.

Hello all, new user. Thanks for building and contributing to this site, it has been good reading for me while awaiting delivery -which is in a week or so.

I put a deposit down on a LC LC with premium package with many additional trinkets thrown in that i don't need.

I was not aware at the time of signing that Toyata had changed sway bar disconnect to optional for LC LC. Go build a 2025 landcruiser on toyota's site and you will see you have to add it to the build.

Dealer just told me that none of the 2025 LC on their way to the southeast have the sway bar disconnect option either. They are checking to see if they can add the system to the truck after delivery. Hopefully they can...

This is deal breaker for me if they can't, so i'm now looking at GX550 as an alternative now and trying to get my deposit back.

if your wondering why, I've suffered with manual disconnects in the past and prefer not to crawl around on the ground digging muck and vegetation out of the sway bar links trying to jimmy the pins back in. Yes i'm too old and spoiled for that anymore, especially with only 8 inches of ground clearance aired-up on pavement.
Yeah, sucks. Encountered the same issue. Put a deposit down on a '25 LC-P, but when I learned about this -- and the fact that pretty much 100% of the Premiums ship with 20" wheels -- I ditched it and began looking for a used LC-FE with very low miles. Which I eventually found at a fair price (it did take some looking). No issues at my local dealer getting deposit back. Texted them, and it was returned within the hour. I'm old enough to remember when Toyota would build trucks to order. My first one came speced exactly as I wanted it -- just check the boxes on what you want, and they built it to suit. Crying shame they won't / can't do that anymore.

Has anyone seen an LC trim in the wild without SDM?

Mine doesn't have it. Picked it up a couple of days ago, dealer had received it 3 days prior. Looks like it was built 1/25. LC Mid-trim. I never would have used it. Not having the button there looks fine.

When I went in for my first oil change I asked the guy inputting my vehicle into the system what the build date was and he showed me the screen. Said manufacture date 4/12/24

My wife bought a '25 LC Premium today. It does not have SDM (neither standard nor option). She wouldn't even know what that means. I doubt she'll ever need it.

FWIW, she takes a minimum of two months to decide whether or not to buy a particular pair of shoes. She test drove a 4Runner and an LC yesterday afternoon, expecting to hate both. She didn't like the 4Runner, loved the LC. When we got home, she found one (via toyota.com last night) 30 minutes away with the options she wanted and dragged me along for another "test drive" today.

I expected the usual, "I have to think about it" and was shocked by her "I'll take it" response to the usual salesman questions, post-test drive. Moreso considering she's coming from an X5 that she loved and was absolutely convinced she'd just buy a newer version of. Don't know what Toyo is doing with the LC line, but...they seem to have it figured out. (Also, she absolutely hates my '22 Taco TRD Pro, which is why she didn't think she'd like either the 4Runner or LC; for context).

I am picking my 2025 LC up on Friday- and it has SDM.

I guess mine was rare. It was the cheapest LC PP that I got lucky with:
  • Front Skid Plate: $440
  • Tailgate light, $150
  • Rear Bumper Guard $230
MSRP around $68k

Came with standard 18" wheels, leather seats (PP) and nothing else. No roof rack, no 20" wheels, no sport exhaust, etc.
