Does anyone actually get the posted 22/24 mpg?

With all due respect to whoever posted the video which I did watch and was helpful, and all due respect to the Car Care Nut...but that's bull crap. I shouldn't have to drive my car like I'm playing some kind of minigame to get the expected gas mileage.
The expected mileage is based on an EPA test cycle that specifies that one should drive like that. Manufacturers are simply learning to design engine systems that are incrementally more efficient in such driving conditions.

Depending how I am driving influences my mpg's I can do the same drive and get 18 or 22. I also have noticed the mileage drops considerably from driving 65 to 85 or more. I also learned yesterday the mpg value maxes out at 99.9 mpg. Was driving out of Joshua Tree National Park into 29 Palms which is a steady downward grade and was pretty much coasting. Once it hit 99.9 it stopped increasing.

I'm clocking in at 17.2 mpg. 700 miles on ODM, I drive like a grandma, I have only put in premium gas, stock wheels, in ECO mode 100% of the time. What gives???? I should be at minimum getting 22 mpg. I wouldn't really care all that much except the tank is tiny...15 gallons. I only get a range of 280 miles per fill.

I have about 7k miles on my LC. I am getting 15.5mpg. While I may be guilty of bad driving habits, I have never obtained less than the manufacturers lowest published mileage.

For example, I have a 2012 Sequoia. I drive the same way and get the lowest published mpg 13, sometimes 16 mpg.

I have no idea how some of you are obtaining 20+. Hats off to you. I took a long road trip 5 hour drive of hwy driving and got 17-18 mpg. Sure I was going faster than posted speed limit but I should not be experiencing a significantly lower mpg than the lowest published mpg. I have never had that happen. If I had known, I would have gone to the Lexus GX550 v6 no hybrid.

I have a first edition with the all terrain tires which are not that aggressive and the upgraded roof rack that comes with that model. Maybe that is dragging mpg down.

This also causes my range to be horrible.

I think Toyota lied about the mpg.

I too get the mileage as advertised if : when highway driving I use cruise, stay at 70 mph or less, and use 91-93 octane gas. Stop and go Highway traffic commuting to our nations capital last week hovered around 22mph.

How many of you all use the "Pulse and Glide " style of driving? I kind of went down a rabbit hole. Its a shame we dont have all the nifty measurements in other hybrids that shows us more for strategic driving.

Im gonna drive around and see if i can work on training myself to drive with this method.

Well, you still can..

Hi all, when I get my gas tank full, it normally says 440 miles range. I did get 450 twice. You do have to top off, it does take 2+ gallons after the first cut off.
Not highly advisable in summer but I am still experimenting

No, especially if you’re running 20” wheels, plus the odometer will be a bit off.

I got windows tinted yesterday, and on the way home enjoyed a very stiff tailwind. A bit over 50 miles at 75MPH. I reset the trip fuel economy history, and got 26.6MPG for 45 miles. Wind was blowing probably 30MPH gusting higher than that.

Still on the Michelin X-Ice Snow’s which had warmed up and were showing 37 PSI.

So if you have a heck of a tailwind, over inflated tires, and no traffic you too can get good fuel economy.

Normally this stretch of road and my normal 75MPH cruise speed gets about 22.5-23MPG depending on conditions.

Messing around with the Pulse and Glide method yesterday. I was able to bump up to 18.3 mpg from 17.7 mpg. It is a bit distracting always watching the green bar and making sure it’s filled up, but it definitely works.

I also messed around with the cruise control and found that it kept me in the green a good amount of time as well.

Haha driving like that called road cruiser ( not Land Cruiser )
Spent ton of $$$ on LC, then try to save 0.6 MPG ;)
Drive just like “proud and power LC”, not Corolla.
This comment will get rocks thrown hahah

Happy LC to all

I would not add additional fuel after the first shut off - read this thread post: New LC 2025 Owner-MPG question/concern

yeah...im not chasing MPG. Just thought i would add to the thread if people were wondering how to do a bit better. Its also to distracting staring at the green bar.

It has given me some tips on maybe not being so heavy on the gas pedal
