I'm coming up on 1,000 miles, but am still getting a significant amount of brake squeal baking down my driveway in reverse each morning. Is this normal?

I don’t know, but there are probably 20 eleven other threads on this topic already. Have you seen any of them?I'm coming up on 1,000 miles, but am still getting a significant amount of brake squeal baking down my driveway in reverse each morning. Is this normal?
I’m having the same problem w mine and it’s right under 1,000 miles. I took it in to be serviced today and was told they did see the problem, unfortunately there are no available parts to fix the problem at this time. They told me the tundra had a similar issue in the last few yrs and that the owners just had to wait until Toyota came out w a solution to the problem…which some waited a yr before they were able to get it fixed. I’m steaming and think this is unacceptable to say the least!I'm coming up on 1,000 miles, but am still getting a significant amount of brake squeal baking down my driveway in reverse each morning. I believe its the brake pads being misalignedOh no, I did a quick search and didn’t see them but now looking a little closer, I did find some of them doesn’t seem like anyone has any idea what the cause is.
Not exactly, I believe someone said it’s a possible design flaw around the rotor? (Not positive)Oh no, did they tell you any specifics about the issue?
Hi - I'm really unhappy about this too and am embarrassed every time I leave the house. (my neighbors on either side always have their windows open). Not exactly, I believe someone said it’s a possible design flaw around the rotor? (Not positive)
I contacted the owner of the dealership and they are having me drop it off for a 2nd time tomorrow to see if they can come up with a temporary solution. I think they said they would try replacing the break pads (although last visit I was told mine were perfect and that they were not the cause of the noise) or add extra temporary padding (if that’s a thing)?
They also filed a claim with Toyota manufacture's department? (I think that’s correct.)
But honestly, at the time, I was so heated by the whole situation…so I may have the above information incorrect. Hopefully, I can get more info after tomorrow’s visit.
I’m pretty annoyed by it all and really feel like they should replace my vehicle with one that doesn’t have this issue, as not all of them do, and considering there isn’t a sure fix at this time.
See below. I like @EOD Guy 's procedure since he does it in reverse and it may help. Curious if you have tried this yet:Hi - I'm really unhappy about this too and am embarrassed every time I leave the house. (my neighbors on either side always have their windows open).
Did you consider trying to contact Toyota to escalate? Not sure how much it will help, but I submitted a video and details to them using the Toyota Brand Engagement contact form. Contact Us | Contact Toyota (scroll to the bottom of the page).
I also provided links to various threads in here that had the most replies. Maybe if more people do that, we won't have to wait years for a fix. (or maybe they will just forward my message to the dealership, who basically say its up to Toyota and they can't do any more).
X2 on bedding in the brakes...... manual tells you to avoid making sudden stops for the first 200 miles. Not a good idea to press the accelerator and the brake at the same time........... could make the hybrid system puke.Have you tried properly bedding the brakes yet? Might be worth a try:
I'm going to go try this now, thanks Trailman!See below. I like @EOD Guy 's procedure since he does it in reverse and it may help. Curious if you have tried this yet:

I normally get up to about 20-30 mph and lightly apply the brakes, my goal is to stop in about 50 yards. I repeat 5-6 times, then 20-30 mph and apply the brakes as I normally would when coming to a stop sign do that 5-6 times. Then I drive in reverse to what I consider a slow to medium-slow speed (faster than backing out of a drive way) and brake normally repeat 3-4 times.
That's my procedure I did with the LC...... no squeals for me........
Hi - no solution yet. I opened a case with Toyota brand engagement and she suggested that others do the same, to get more visibility. Dealer wasn't able to help because they could not replicate.Has anyone actually solved this? I'm 4k miles in and it's still happening every time I first back up in the morning (and sometimes later in the day but always on first drive).
I just did this. Hoping to get to my dealer for a service this week and it will be brought up prior to drop off.Hi - no solution yet. (I wish we could create a sticky thread for this issue, I keep posting in the wrong threads)

I backed into my garage the other day so I could leave in the morning without annoying my neighbors. Also, I went to breakfast the other day and it did it when I went to drive home - the car was sitting maybe an hour at most.
