I thought I saw some discussion on replacing the dash corner speakers. Im thinking about these:

What I want is a bit more clarity and sharpness to the sound without cutting into wiring. Easy upgrades. I think the 14 speaker JBL is ok, but It needs a bit more sound stage and bass for me. Figured I’d drop these in then later upgrade the bass. I can polyfill the enclosure and dynomat it as well while I’m in there. Thoughts?

Where did you find the stock speaker sizing? I’m rather disappointed in the “upgraded” JBL system when compared to the tundra. I’d like to upgrade all the speakers

Somewhere you can find a post detailing location and size. I know the corners and center dash are 3.5. That link I posted has options for all locations.

I upgraded my base 10-speaker system, used Infinity reference REF307F for the dash.

@SOCAL250 has done a TON of work upgrading their JBL system:

Those speaker won’t work because they are two way. If you have the JBL premium then you already have tweeters in the pillars. So putting a two way in the corners would be placing two tweeters right next to each other which would not sound good. You need to find just a mid speaker.

In another thread someone mentioned the DSP limiting the frequencies for the respective speakers for their given purpose. If true, the 2-ways should be fine with their tweeters “unused.”
