17 inch Genuine Toyota Steelies

I think I've decided to go ahead with these for winter. They're a good price at my local dealer. Is it unequivocal that all TNGA-F Tundra wheels will work on the J250? I believe I've seen a few example of people running the TRD Pro wheels, so I'm guessing the answer is YES.

Have you considered 255/80R17? The are a tiny bit larger but should still fit.
Hi and alpha,
I use this site for the comparison.

I was able to add the wheels to my online shopping cart from Longo Toyota (which is local to you I think) but I hesitated before giving them my credit card number until I could talk to a human being (too long hold time). Did you try Longo?
I asked my parts guy at the local Toyota dealership and I was told that

Wheels: 42601-AK011
“No sale” I guess meaning discontinued or special internal orders only

Center Caps: 4260B-AK010
“Back ordered” No ETA

Answer from Toyota parts Sales in Japan (Toyota Kyohan)
“No good part#s” 🤦🏻‍♂️

Sorry IceCap1958! Longo Toyota is the actual Toyota dealership in California! I misunderstood… I thought you’re talking about Canadian company 😅

Since new tacos are assembled at Mexican plant and these wheels are made by Topy in Mexico. It might be worth checking with Tijuana Toyota over the fence from San Diego! Any Spanish speakers around? 🤣

At the first I just tried with the genuine steelies for 4Runner. 👎 Don’t make the same mistake! Bolt pattern is the same but the offset is totally off (ET15) and the wheels stick out like 50mm from the fender. Center bore is larger for Runner rims. 24 Taco base wheels are bang on everything matches!
I know I probably missed it somewhere but what is the wheel offset on these? I looked up the part number you posted but it just made me cautious to order cause none of the sites have a pic of the item or any details on the wheel

You wanna know about Runner wheel or taco wheel? For LC taco wheel is bang on. Runner wheel offset and center bore are different

I was able to downsize my wheels to 17 inch without any issues! It’s very tight especially in the rear but, the rear calipers aren’t interfering and turning freely. I always think the base trim Land Cruisers sold outside of North America are so cool! I grew up in outskirts of Tokyo and my place was located halfway between Hino’s Hamura Plant and the port. I remember seeing hundreds of “export spec”LC Prados and North American spec FJ Cruisers were getting transported to the port everyday. I wanted something not made for JDM so bad and that’s where my fantasies all started🤣
Now I live in a city in Western Canada and I do appreciate all the features like Apple Carplay, Toyota Safety Sence and etc., but I still want my LC look plane Jane almost looks like 70 series sold in Middle East. You can skip and ignore this post if this is not your cup of tea. It’s just my fantasy hahaha

Driving from Vancouver, BC to Baja, Mexico with my kids now. I didn’t have enough time to source the genuine lug nuts in Canada so I went to the dealership in Marin county, CA to get more appropriate type lug nuts(Acorn M14 x 1.5 capped). A guy at the parts counter was super helpful and he figured out older Tundra ones work! 👍 The original socket size was 21mm but now 22mm.
But I’m OK with that, cuz torque spec is around 100ft/lb.

Here’s the part numbers for these parts:

‘24 Tacoma Base Rim 42601-AK031

Tundra Base Lug Nuts 90942-A1003

Tires: BF GOODRICH ALL TERRAIN A/T
255/75R17
What color are the Taco Rims you bought? Black or Dark Gray?

Can you confirm that the color of the steelies you purchased was dark gray?

Absolutely the same trip here once I can find a LC petrol. Plain white, round headlamps, genuine all-round... Great to see that steel rims fit the new LC... thank you for sharing. Please post more pictures of your LC setup here, as this is a rare mod'.

You for sure must have seen the LC sold in UAE, which are having thoese steel rims ? Note the exact same tow hitch you're after...

Here are their pictures showing those rims:

Hey that looks just like mine!
I want the “BX” emblem to make it look more real!

Note that the UAE entry level LC do not have rear tinted windows. But I guess you can live with that !

I have the Toyota Steelies on my fj62 landcruiser. I like them for the simplicity of them. I have had to spray paint them because they only come with a black primer coat. It fades fast.

If I was ambitious enough I could swap the tires over to the LC250 but that would be a lot of work just to see what they looked like. Same bolt hole pattern and offset.

Thanks so much for figuring this out. Looking forward to some steelies!

How is everyone going about rust prevention? I live in a rainy climate, so I was thinking to give the wheels several coats of Rust-Oleum high performance wheel spray paint in matte black. Hoping that would be enough to not have to worry about rust forming for many years.

Also, you can get these wheels shipped for $88 each with a 25% off sale in some select toyota dealers. See the deal. Shipping is free up to $200, so I had to make multiple orders to not pay any shipping cost but it was an amazing deal.

Seems somewhat reasonable but brings the total price a bit closer to aftermarket wheels. I’m going to see how some light prep with a scotch brite and $30 of Rustoleum spray turns out. I’ve seen pretty good results with that online, including retro land cruisers painting the Steelies grey to match the originals. Thinking of going with a grey to see how it turns out.

You also get the benefit of cost effectiveness and self sufficiency for touch ups.

Hope you post some pics when all done. I am sure the wheels are going to look great.
