2024 - Hybrid system malfunction, drive start control malfunction

At 600 miles I had the same experience. I dropped it off at the dealer October 24, 2024. As of December 1, 2024 it is still there. Toyota is waiting for the following parts:

Hybrid Module Assembly
Transmission Assembly
Torque Converter Assembly

I have wanted a Landcruiser for as long as I can remember. Not a happy camper. Waiting for Toyota to replace the vehicle or just buy it back. I have to admit I am worried about the new technology.
Sorry you are going through this too. I just received mine back today after 2 mos. They repl transmission , torque converter, hybrid module and transmission cooler due to metal shavings.

Did they give you a loaner?

My LC with just over 1000 miles just had a very similar issue last night. All kinds of warning notices and a hybrid system malfunction notice. All the notices cleared but these two (pics of notices attached below) stayed. For a moment felt like transmission was slipping and lost hybrid power. Pulled over and restarted it. After that It drove fine but the notice is there. I scheduled a service appointment for this coming Monday.

I'm surprised by how many people have had this issue come up. No probs here . . . so far. I feel for you guys/gals, though, and wonder when (or if) it'll happen to my LC.

Question: Just as many of us do a preemptive oil change as a guard against machining debris in the engine oil, would any of you recommend a preemptive oil change for the transmission fluid? Would that have even been of help? It seems a small price to pay for peace of mind.

OTOH, if a simple oil change were an effective fix, wouldn't Toyota have offered a free one already? I have to think Toyota knows of this issue and is on top of it.

Took it in for service, the service advisor said that there was a fault code for a transmission solenoid. They are keeping it for another day to drive it more. If it doesn’t happen again and keeps driving without anymore code faults they said they will release it back to me. I’m hoping it was just a glitch, glad to get it back. I’m not too worried about it, if something happens again they will figure it out.

Update Edit

Driving fine for two days now no issues.

Update,
After 7 weeks the LC is ready to pickup. New transmission , torque converter, hybrid module and transmission. I have notified Toyota I want a full refund. I'll wait till 2025 or 2026 and try again. What a shame.
