Dead Battery again!

Working on the LC today, had the doors open for about 2 hours and the battery went flat again. This is the 4th or 5th time, so out it came and going to replace it with an optima, if I can find one!
Hmmm. Don't have our LC yet, but on our Highlander if one leaves the doors open, following a short period of time it powers off the lighting and the ability to operate other electrical devices, such as power windows, etc. Have you modified anything electrical?
 
Optima’s are awesome batteries! I’ve considered putting one in Miss Daisy in the near future, even though I have not had the same problem as you.

Ever try( Odyssey batteries) both are good batteries

Nope, any additions are powered through a resettable circuit breaker, which I leave in the open state. The battery went flat the 1st time, in like the first week I owned it.
 
What a pain that was! but it fit.......

Does that seem odd to you? It seems odd to me that batteries would go dead from interior lights being on for a couple of hours....

Do you think it has anything to do with the LC hybrid related issues?
 
Did you have to mod/remove anything to get it in there?
No, the optima battery is the same size as the OEM battery, just very tight spaces. There are 3 bolts and one nut, all 12mm, one on each side of the battery. Neg cable and adjoining connector relatively easy to disconnect. Leave the neg battery post connect on the battery, the pos cable has to be removed from the battery post and moved out of the way, once the battery hold down has been unbolted, you can barely wiggle it out of the opening and just as hard getting it back in.
 
Interesting. We came back from a 2 week trip and I was actually wondering if the LC would even start. Started up no issues thankfully. My Subaru would already be dead by day 5 (battery drain that I never could find). I do agree that the optima batteries are top notch and are my replacements of choice on all my cars. I do usually go with the red.

The red wouldn't fit, posts (neg/pos) were on the opposite sides

Did you remove the storage tray next to the battery compartment when you did the work?

Looked like lots of access to me.

I had the opposite problem with battery.. when I finally got my windshield replaced… while other thread on here….the windshield guy left my map light on… I didn’t notice it for 2 days!!! Car started right up and been fine for several weeks now! Knock on wood! Nothing is worse than hearing a “ click” sounds when trying to start your car!
