Tire upgrades on 20 in. rims?

Are you still liking these? I am considering the same upgrade. Any impact on MPG, and how is road noise?
Yes, still loving them. Quiet for an A/T. I’m guessing probably a 1-2 MPG hit versus OEM road tires. Worth it in my opinion. Haven’t tested them that hard yet off-road. Only a mild fire road.

I’m Getting sliders and skid plates installed next month and will then venture a little further off road.

I replaced the OEM Dunlop tires on my LCLC Premium with 20-inch wheels when I did the 1,000-mile break-in oil change. I put on BFG KO2 265/60 R20 (the KO3 in that size isn't available until August 2025, I'm told). I live in Wyoming; my house sits on a ridge at 7500 ft, and it's 2.5 miles of not-so-great gravel road just to get to my mailbox... so the Dunlops would probably not have been acceptable (especially in winter).

With the load rating E of the KO2, I upped the tire pressure to 38 psi, which seems to ride well. I'd probably bump it to 40 or a little more if I carried much of a load, but it's usually just me and not much gear. Average MPG with the Dunlops was a little over 23; average MPG with the KO2's at 38 psi is a little over 22. That's mostly rural road and small-town driving, with some interstate driving (that goes up and down a mountain pass at over 8500 ft) mixed in.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with the KO2's both in performance and looks.

Not what most folks are looking at, but had 275/60/20 General Arctic Grabbers thrown in today. Looks better than the stocks and well prepped for winter now!

I had 275/60/20 Falken Rubitrek tires installed today. The noise over stock Dunlops is negligible. You cannot tell the difference between them and the stock tires over everyday radio listening.

I had Falken Wildpeak AT4Ws installed on my 20's today. They look fantastic! I'm heading out west in a couple of weeks to get them out on some trails. We'll see if you can't wheel on 20's like people seem to think.
How did they do on the trails? I’m about to pull the trigger on these wildpeak at4ws.
 
I originally went with 275 65 20 Cooper Strongholds 34 inch. Looked really nice but I found the E rated tire road pretty harsh. Ended up exchanging them for 33 inch Cooper Road and Trail. Sl rated and it drives so much nicer.

Did you happen to replace the spare tire with the 275/65R20? I'm thinking about the Nitto Terra Grappler G3 in that size and SL, but wondering there is any way to get that size spare tire to fit in the stock location.

I didn’t replace the spare, but it would fit.

Somebody installed 285/55/20 tyres?
Not sure why you would choose that size, while slightly wider, its smaller in all other categories than the 275/60/20 which is also readily available.
 
I have Michelin LTXs on 3 of my 4wd diesel trucks now.
A truly outstanding tire in all ways.
KOs etc in that class are noisy and rumble. Don't handle near as well as the LTXs especially at speed.
the big ole knobby stuff looks cooler but that goes away quickly if you use the vehicle daily.
 
Been watching this thread deciding if I should keep my 20” wheels and get new tires or go for the 18”. Ended up keeping the 20” and installing Terra Grapplers G3s on the vehicle in 275/60r18 at Discount Tires.

Installation went relatively well except the spare was a little loose which after messing with it and loosening it and retightening they’re nice and snug.

Bit shakey compared to the stocks and getting about 19mpg driving in eco mode all hwy for the first 1k miles. May take the vehicle back to DT and see if the shaking is a balancing issue or the sht roads.
