Sof-Tex or Leather

I personally don’t notice much of a difference. My lc has leather and the 4Runner softex. Leather maybe not as stiff/hard as softex. It would not be a deciding factor for me in choosing a vehicle.

Wishing the Premium Pkg, no choice, am getting leather. However, would have preferred the zero-maintenance Softex.

I think the leather looks and feels nicer, and it also seems more durable than Sof-Tex. Some folks think leather makes no sense in an off-road (capable) vehicle, but that's a personal choice. I checked out both options but decided the leather was much nicer and thus got a FE.

The leather looks nicer and feels great on the GX when I was cross shopping. But since I have an infant, that’s a no go for me. Softex is supposedly more durable and less maintenance which I’m all for

Consider the more important features and don't worry about the seat material both are very good. We like the brown/ tan, material is much less important.

Not a firm opinion based on experience, but would have preferred real leather. But I’m getting a standard trim because I didn't want to pay for all the other stuff I don’t like.

Will see…can always upgrade to leather, and the stereo later.

I also have the Premium package so I have leather but would not have paid for it as a standalone option. I have another car with Softex. It does not get hot and sticky, is totally bulletproof, and looks the same. I wouldn't let this choice affect your decision.

My LC has Sof-tex like my '21 4Runner did. I love it I do a lot of hiking/running/biking and am very sweaty when I get back in the vehicle from my start points. It cleans easily and seems softer than the leather I've had in other vehicles. I haven't had any noticeable scratches or tears...4 years in the 4Runner and 4 months in the LC so far.

I did get an easy to install/remove seat cover for the LC. It helps me cool down without sticking to the seat.

having owned vehicles with both, I'm going softex all the way.

Genuine leather is a bit softer for sure, but requires more upkeep and is less durable in my experience, and I actually like a bit firmer seat

I'd probably also prefer Softex over the cloth seats of my 1958 ed, but I actually do like the cloth seats.

I had leather on my three previous Land Cruisers, but opted for SoftTec on my 2024. I think that it provides all of the comfort and less maintenance compared to leather. Most people assume it's leather when they ride in the vehicle. Either is a good choice.

I opted for the middle trim with the optional premium package. To me, the $60k-$70k price point with "vinyl" seats just rubs me the wrong way. I was debating between the 1958 and middle trim w/ the premium package; while there is ~$15k upcharge between them there was enough other goodies to justify the jump in price.

The 1958 trim was to me too entry level for the $55k price point.

The Land Cruiser trim does get the large screens, but I wanted the JBL sound and am not a huge fan of "vinyl" seats. To me the premium package with the JBL and leather, running board (my wife is 5'0"), etc was worth it. IF you want the leather but have no interest in the JBL, running boards, moon roof, etc then that is a pretty steep price to pay for leather (Katzskins as a alternative"

If you live in a cold centric climate, Softex is fine and probably easier to clean than leather. No matter what they claim though, I don’t feel like it breathes at all. Here in Tucson, AZ, I picked the LC LC package primarily for the ventilated leather seats. However, the very best option here has always been fabric in my opinion.
