I would welcome a sanity check on the wheels and tires I've selected for my LC250 from those of you that have more experience with this than I do.

Method 316 17x8 +25 Wheel should be 1.65" farther outward than stock 18x7.5 +60mm wheel (offset and width/2 difference)
Toyo Open Country A/T III, 285/75R17 33.9 x 11.3 Tire should be +0.3" farther outward than stock 265/70R18 tire.

So this wheel and tire combination should be 1.95" farther outward than stock. This seems a bit much, but some measurements on my FE LC250 look ok and waiting for a wheel that has a more positive offset (40mm or 35m) will only be .4 to .6 less outward. So..... is this a sane tire and wheel selection?

Thanks

I am in the same boat. I am waiting on Method Wheels MR318's, 18x8.5, +40mm offset. They are 6 weeks out. I am not looking for wheels with a poke.

My concern is poke too. I'm more interested in the upcoming Method 703, 17x8.5, +35 wheels, than the 318s you mentioned, but both would be closer to the stock +60 offset. Being impatient stinks.

I you put that large a tire on with a 40mm offset, it will likely rub the lower edges of the wheel wells when turning... a bit. If you put that same tire on a lesser-offset wheel, you are almost sure to contact the inner top of the fender at compression, since the tire cannot fit up inside it. This would require further mitigation measures, which many are happy to do to accommodate larger tires.

The lower edge rub looks pretty easy to address. i suppose the inner top would be a lift, which is reasonable but a bigger project. helpful evaluation - Thanks.

I don't think there will be any rub on a 40mm offset using 275/70/18's.

No, there certainly won't be. I was responding to the "Toyo Open Country A/T III, 285/75R17 33.9 x 11.3"

I have 285/75/17 open country III tires with a +25 offset 8.5โ€ wheel on mine. I can take pictures if you want, it comes very close to the bottom at full turn but doesnโ€™t rub. I bet it would rub at the top at full compression, but havenโ€™t tested. Iโ€™m putting a 2.5โ€ lift on it so not worried in my case.

Thanks for describing your experience. I would like to see photos when you a chance. That would be helpful.

What did you mean by "upcoming"? Looks like that spec you shared is already available.

I emailed Method asking if they were going to have more 18" inch wheel options soon, they said no.

We apologize for any inconvenience. At present, we offer four models designed to achieve a flush, no-poke appearance. There are no additional options anticipated in the near future.

The 2 options from Method that look relevant to me are:

MR318 18x8.5 +40
MR703 17x8.5 +35

There's some debate as to whether a 17" wheel should be used on the LC250 so, depending on where you land on that debate, there may only be 1 option. My understanding is that both of these wheels will be available in 6+ weeks.

Looks like there are two 18 inch wheels with +40 offsets -- the Method 318 and the Icon Recon SLX -- that will be available in the future.

Of course, please pass along corrections if my understanding is mistaken.

Unfortunately, the MR318 18x8.5 +40 are out of stock everywhere. Mid to late October. I have called dealer with no luck. Same goes for the ICONS Recon SLX's. There is someone in Westfield , MA who is selling a used set of MR318's for $850 if someone is interested. It is too far for me.

Thanks for providing the photos. Those tires and wheels look great.

They are absolutely NOT size 285/75R17. Zoom in on the pic and you can see the size, 285/70R17
Right, earlier you mentioned about 285/75R17
