Running wires externally at the rear

Has anyone figured out a way to run wires to the outside of the truck and to the roof at the back? I'm looking to install my WeBoost antenna on the back of my roof rack and haven't found a good way to route the wire to it. The signal booster/amplifier will most likely be installed somewhere in the back so running the wire from there is the challenge. The provided cable is only 10-15 feet long so running it through the firewall and up the side of A-pilar is not really an option.

I imagine this same route could be used if you want to install "camp lights" on the rack near the back as well.

To demonstrate my ignorance of electrical systems; can you run behind the grill lights to a fuse box in the engine compartment?

Curious obit the roof as well.

One thing I can say is the lights suck on this LC for anything other than highway driving

For this scenario, I'm not looking for power for the booster. Instead, it's to run the antenna wire from the roof rack to the booster which will be installed in the cargo area.

In the image below, it's the orange line I'm speaking of:

I plan on adding a WeBoost, my current plan (still in the future) is to see if the rear hatch will pinch the cable (top/center) if it doesn't, I'm going to see if the cable can be sealed through the existing boot or add a single cable gland in that same general area.

It is quite easy to get a wire from the harness boot for the rear hatch at the top (on the body side) down to the battery compartment. From there you can exit the boot and route up to the roof. It looks like there should be clearance between the rear hatch and the body for a wire.

I'm running my weboost external antenna through the rear hatch along with an RG8 for my VHF/UHF mobile. It's fine if you don't want drill a hole, which I don't. I just put a piece of tape on the painted part where it contacts and to keep the cable in place.

Do not use the boot! Don't drill a hole in your roof you will end up regretting it! Use something like this there ar multiple versions. If you buy s roof rack this is almost certainly what they will use to power your lights!

While that is a super way to run wires.......... not so much for a 1/4" coaxial cable.

The cable from the antenna fits fine just feeding into the gap between hatch and body. No creaking or squeaking in my case. Not the prettiest solution but definitely the easiest. Anyway, would love a guide on running a cable down through the hood as my Starlink will be arriving soon

Yes, this is definitely on my list for when I run wires up to the front lightbar because it tucks nicely against A-pillar on the windshield. However, for the back, I'm not sure how you'd use this.

well it is far easier if you use an aftermkt Roof rack you can wire loom the wires and run it from the front to the back along the outside rails of the roof rack. I like to run everything in braided loom like this with heat shrink on the ends to finish it up! looks professional and protects all of the wires.
