Rear Seat Alarm Disable?

Hey guys. Three days into ownership of my new LC premium. I figured out how to turn off the bell on the rear seat alarm but the red alert on the dash is still is there. Really makes no sense to me why the alarm is even on if no one is in the back seat. Is that normal? I would think disabling the rear seat alarm would turn that off too. Am I doing something wrong?

There’s people who have said the alarm is activated by opening a rear door before driving off. I disabled mine and the red light does come on also but I believe it turns off after a while. I don’t really pay attention to those lights much. I place my lunch box on the rear seat when I drive in to work so I have noticed it. There’s a thread about it if you do a search.

That’s because there is no valuable info. It comes on and goes away after a little while. I have not found a way to disable it.

Dealer told me yesterday that if you open a rear door only one time after start, you are getting the alert. Period. It assumes one door opened means you put a kid back there and didn't get them out.
