Sleeping in back?

I was looking for something to do on the holiday, and since I happened to have the material kicking around, I made this.

I will be finishing it off with a self-inflating mattress pad to create a comfortable full length surface. I’ll also sand the surfaces and perhaps cover with carpet or fabric.

My personal requirements:
  • Level out the back with the folded seats.
  • Be easy to pick up, move and store.
  • Allow use of the back seats while installed.
  • Be modular so I can use one or both depending on if my wife is with me.
Nothing fancy, but it works. Just in time for nice cool fall weather camping!
What's the protection surface you are using on the back of the second row seats? :)

Canada always gets these and we get screwed in the US. We can’t even order them. I called the Canadian stealership and they told me that the shipping would be cost prohibitive

I built the platform that someone else uploaded here (provided measurements). Tweaked it a bit for portability / collapsibility and the ability to unfold it while in position without scraping the headliner. Seems to work very well.

Any chance you could provide plans for your version? Of the ones I’ve seen, it looks like the best option for me
