Real World mpg

i have 5000 miles and have never been able to avg more than 17 mph unless I am around town or driving below 70 mph . If I run 75 - 80 I will avg 16th stock FE with wild peak at4 stock size. Am not fast acceleration driver , always use shell 93 octane , eco mode .
Mostly south MS driving . My tundra hybrid 4x4 got better fuel mileage .
than LC
I would not give a crap about the mileage if I had the 32 gallon tank my tundra has , but getting fuel every 250 miles sucks , especially on a trip

Gas Mileage Cheat Code

Use the hybrid system to gently get going and maintain speed at at about 1500 rpms. Don't exceed 65 MPH as that is when wind noise starts anyway. You will be pleasantly surprised at the gas mileage.

The AT4's really kill the mileage. Mine went from 24mpg to 19mpg. Now that it's winter blizzard driving it's more like 16mpg.

My brother-in-law works for an oil company. I like to think of the fuel mileage as supporting his family. 😂

To build on your cheat code:

Also once you get going, don't stop.
Also, once you get going, keep driving for at least 20+ minutes, the LC needs some time to remember it is a hybrid.
Also, stay above 25mph, because attempting to maintain a speed of 10-20mph in a residential neighborhood requires full turbocharged induction.

Failure to meet these criteria is punishable by low MPG.

My trick has been to roll into the pedal. Jamming it triggers a downshift, while rolling into it leans into the electric motor and turbo, and still getting the same acceleration.

Getting 22.5mpg after 15,000 miles on the odo... still on the 265/65r18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers. Not too bad. That's also with the addition of roof rails and (occasionally) Thule wingbars.

Do you run 91 or 93 octane?

Mid version LC, 3400 miles on stock Michelins. I’ve been right around 20.5 for weeks. Live in SLC and do some canyons, commute, driving long and short.

Wondering…and wondering…
Are we getting LC for slow drive with minimum gas pedal push, grandma acceleration, street tires, no roof rack / cross bars, etc. to have best mpg ? Even someone thinks or tries to fold the mirrors to achieve high mpg ;)
After the green light at the intersection, I don’t want to be the last one after 5 seconds behind 1980 Honda Civic. On the off-road trails, I never want Jeep boys laughing at me…my LC makes them respect hahaha
I pay for the price of low mpg, but I am happy heheh
My LC is driven like real LC which can go any where and get speed I like on freeway. Is it our primary purpose I purchase LC? Or else, I will get Prius
Ideally, high mpg but super fast and muscle vehicle. The reality didn’t happen.

Hahaha please don’t throw rocks to me.
Happy LC to all here. Peace ;)

About 2k on the clock, stock LCLC on stock 18" wheels/rubber. Got 26mpg for a 40 minute highway drive doing roughly 70-80mph the whole way. Maybe I had a tailwind? It does seem the more it's driven/broken in, the MPGs have been going up.

Yes, that is what people are doing and you will receive some rocks. But don't drive like that, it's neither safe nor consistent with the way most folks drive in real conditions.

Hahah So far I didn’t get any rocks yet ;)
Thanks fully that our guys here are very open minded to accept different mindsets. Love our forum and I have learned lots from all different angles / choices. I also try to contribute/ share my thoughts/mods here…
Happy LC to All
