I just added additional seals all around the door and it still didn’t help. It has to be something rattling in the door or the glass in the track rattling. It’s all over the forum. However, no definitive fix.

Yeah I’m gonna try one more thing and see if it helps, if not it’s getting traded in.I just added additional seals all around the door and it still didn’t help. It has to be something rattling in the door or the glass in the track rattling. It’s all over the forum. However, no definitive fix.
Did you try lubricanting the door seals?Yeah I’m gonna try one more thing and see if it helps, if not it’s getting traded in.
Tried the following:Did you try lubricanting the door seals?
You might try:Tried the following:
adjusted striker
lubricated all seals
removed door panel, checked everything. Put felt in places that looked suspicious. Put foam padding inside door where there were gaps between crossbeams and metal.
checked door locking mechanism and put more felt around it and re-tightened
removed B pillar trim and seatbelt. checked for anything that might be causing it, didn't really see a culprit in there and the seatbelt anchor top/bottom lined with felt...no sounds from there.
Last thing I will try tonight is removing B pillar trim and re-tapping upper welds with a tap/hammer as seen in a TSB for 2022-2024 Camry's for a "rattle noise" If this does not fix it, its getting traded asap. This is absurd on a $70K vehicle.
Nothing from the rear handle. Tight as can be. Removed all of B pillar. Performed the Camry fix. Did not change anything. I am going to try the driver door one more time. After that, F it!You might try:
Removing the rear seat grab handle, test drive checking to see if the rattle gets louder (if so might be the sun roof track)
Driving with the rear door ajar with a rolled up towel keeping it ajar and see if it still persists
Several pairs of vice grips / clamps around the door pinch welds etc.......
I’m going to take apart drivers door again tomorrow and check a few things out. It's got to be frustrating!
Might be worth your effort to borrow/obtain a mechanics stethoscope to localize the rattle, while someone else drives.
I would think trim panels channel sounds away from where they are actually emanating.
I'd suggest before you take the driver's door apart, drive with it open and see it the sound decreases etc....I’m going to take apart drivers door again tomorrow and check a few things out.
Sound was still there after test drive last night.I'd suggest before you take the driver's door apart, drive with it open and see it the sound decreases etc....
Yes, I lubricated all of my door seals. Unfortunately, it did not work..Did you try lubricanting the door seals?
I’ve seen that. I beat over 20 welds with a punch in the b pillar. Noise still present. At this point I think it’s the mirror where it attaches to the door. I saw a YouTube video of a lc300 door panel removal/mirror removal….its a heavy mirror on thin ass aluminum. That’s my next area to target unless I trade it soonLexus GX550 forum posted this about B pillar metal on metal contact that dealer addressed "they identified the noise during test drive and did the following work: removed seat belt bracket. attempted manipulating spot weld using soft punch. identified noise coming from lower part of b pillar when pulling on sheet metal. identified lack of clearance inside b pillar. sheet metal making contact intermittently causing metallic ticking noise. used pry tool to create clearance. re-installed trim panel. no abnormal sound heard after clearance adjustment." However, they must have removed the front seat and entire covering off of B pillar? I wish we had more details. Here's the original thread.. lexus gx550 premium driver door rattle/cabin noise It still sounds like a metallic ticking or the glass rattling in the channel. Clearly a production issue that Toyota/Lexus need to create a TSB for. I was going to get a GX550 and turn in the LC, but came across this. Come on Toyota. A Kia Telluride is more buttoned down.
Hey! going through this thread once again hoping to find a fix... Were you able to clarify with your mechanic regarding the actual fix? What have they done to fix the clips? To close the loop on my rattle case - my trusted servicemen (not the official Toyota guys) removed the faulty handle. It is attached to the roof with metal clips, not bolts. They played a bit with the clips system and now the rattle is no more. Not exactly sure exactly what they did to the clips, but I can find out if anyone is interested. Thnx
I noticed that on mine too, wrapped in sound deadening material and put everything back together and the sound was still there. So for me, that didn't solve the issue, but was another issue all together.I finally found the source. At first, I thought it was the glass rattling in the door, the door striker, or an issue with the seals. It is the driver's seatbelt pulley mechanism. It’s located at the base of the B pillar, right behind the driver's seatbelt pulley mechanism base. I localized it by taking off the lower B pillar plastic cover, and my wife drove the LC while I sat in the back seat over washboard dirt roads. It rattled away more than ever. I have videos but cannot upload the video and audio on this site. Perhaps file size? I’ve attached pictures and circled the culprit in red. I’m sure the dealer will attempt to replace it with the same garbage part. For now, I insulated the inside of the B pillar plastic cover with sound-deadening foam until a proper TSB comes out. They will likely have to replace the entire driver's side seatbelt mechanism. I haven’t had time to take it in for them to confirm and develop a solution.
