I traded a '19 Audi SQ5. Great daily driver, but as the warranty end date drew closer I got more and more nervous. Previous to that I had a 200-series, and am loving my new LC250.

Interesting to see the breakdown so far!
  1. 4Runner - 51/205 votes - 25%
  2. Tacoma - 17 - 8%
  3. F-S Truck - 13 - 6%
  4. Subaru - 12 - 6%
  5. Jeep - 12 - 6%
  6. Tundra - 11 - 5%
  7. ...
Wonder how this will change once the 6th Gen 4Runner has been out for a bit?

Hi friends, my last car was an Ineos Grenadier Trialmaster, 6 cylinder Diesel Biturbo. I was very happy with it, and I lost it as a result of the Dana that hit Valencia two months ago, and now I'm thinking of buying a Land Cruiser 250 VX-L.

2016 Tahoe.

It was a good vehicle, it did exactly what it was supposed to do, well. Gave me very little trouble in 120,000 miles over 8 years.

It eventually came to seem bigger than we wanted and 8 years was long enough. But I think fondly of it.

Traded in a 2020 Land Rover Discovery 5. Only thing I miss is the adjustable height air suspension and the 3rd row seats. Leather was a bit better in the D5 too.

I sold my 2017 Honda Pilot AWD looking for something with more ground clearance and lot stouter 4WD capabilities. Only issue I had with the Pilot at 69k+ miles was having to replace the fuel rails and injectors at ~ 30k and was later reimbursed for the repairs due to a recall. Got a really good price for it as it was in very good condition and ended up getting a LC in TX with a $3,100 discount in early August and had it trucked to me in Santa Fe. I have been very happy with the LC.

Didn’t give anything up. Kept 3rd and 4th gen 4Runners that I’ll eventually hand down to my kids (although I’ll probably keep the 3rd gen for myself!).

Had a tricked out 4 x 4 MB Sprinter van RV that I invested the last 2 years tricking out and a Jeep Gladiator Mojave that got taken out in hurricane Helene storm surge. Before the loss I found myself cannibalizing my budget to trick out both, so decided to go a different route this time and look for one do all off-roader. We had a 2004 4Runner Sport V8 for 11 years and it was the standard that everything was compared to and we always said we’d get a LC. So we found one mispriced below MSRP got the LC to pair with an offroad trailer for our new rig. And, I got a β€˜24 Taco to replace my gladiator. All Yotas in the garage now.

2015 Audi Q3 Quattro -daily- (sold it to family) and a 1998 2 door Tahoe -weekend toy- (sold it to Carvana). The Tahoe was great but I barely ever drove it. It was in really good condition but needed a lot of little things fixed. As a full time Dad with a toddler; didn’t have the time. The 2 doors also made it a pain to put my kid in the car seat. The Audi was my daily and loved it. Upgraded it with a bigger turbo and bigger brembo brakes. Fast and fun but not really a family mobile. It was a little too small for my growing family and wanted a body on frame for safety. Wrote a thread about what influenced my decision on buying the Land Cruiser -link shared here-.

Toyota Sienna. Loved that thing- drove from PA to OR and back (different routes, of course). It was my mini camper, hockey hauler, MTB shuttle, canoe car... If you zoom in, I actually had Toyo OC ATs on there

I got real tired of scraping the bottom coming out of driveways, transitioning from asphalt to gravel, etc. I actually went in for a Sequoia, but those are sooooo expensive.

The "car" before that was an '11 Tacoma. Great one too, but small for the growing family. So far, the J250 is the sweet spot and MUCH better than a wrangler for MY real life driving conditions.

2021 BMW X3 M40i.

While a lot of fun, I never felt comfortable taking it offroad. In contrast, my LC250 has been offroad and not washed in a few months, I feel much better treating like the truck it is.

F150 Lariat.... Don't need that much payload anymore. Most comfortable seats ever in that Ford though. Love my LC and other than the seats, no regrets at all.
