I’ve been a Jeep guy my whole life. I’ve owned almost every model Jeep for the past 30 years.
I was also shopping the new Grand Cherokee when I bought my Land Cruiser. The GC had massage seats, night vision and super plush interior, but when it all boiled down, I realized what I was looking for was an SUV that’s really good at being an SUV.
Jeep used to have that in the WK2, but that’s where it ended. The new WL Grand Cherokee is more on par with a Highlander than a Land Cruiser.
So with Toyota being the last Pure Play SUV manufacturer, with body on frame, towing capacity, trailer brake controller, lockers, sway bar disconnect, it became a no brainer.
Jeep was too focused on mall crawling with the Grand Cherokee whereas Toyota went purist and made a really damned good SUV that can drive well off road AND on road.
PS… I will have an old Wrangler again some day, but as a second vehicle. Can’t beat that top off, doors off feeling.

I'm going to be trading in a 2018 Honda Accord Sport and a 2024 GMC 1/2 AT4 with 3 liter diesel

I'll throw this up there as an outlier.. 2014 Chevy Volt!!

2004 Volvo S60 R ……had it for 17 years and it reached a point that it was hard to find available parts to keep it road worthy.

For me, I won't be eliminating any vehicles. The LC will be an addition to the stable.

'21 Honda Ridgeline, which I loved. I didn't need and rarely used the bed (the trunk was awesome though). Was considering trading for a Pilot Trailsport, but then the LC came out, end of story.

Switched from a fully loaded 2021 Toyota Rav4 Prime. Still one of my favorites.

Had planned on selling once I got my LC, but just couldn't part ways

Curious what vehicle led to having your LC250? I’m sure I missed some obvious choices, but here goes…

NOTE: I've added a couple options that I missed (didn't know I could do that!), so if you picked OTHER but had an FJ, Bronco, Subaru or Sequoia, you can go back and change your vote!

[EDIT 120824: 3 or 4 FJs in the comments at 33 votes total]
[EDIT 120924: Added options, allowed changing of vote]
Went from a Lexus IS300. Needed something bigger and better to tackle the winters where I’m from, especially in deep snow.

My wife traded her 2020 RAV4 for a 2025 LC1958 in meteor shower, im going today to trade my 2021 Tacoma for a white 1958.

2011 4Runner, drove it for ~10 years with no issues at all. The LC250 felt like a natural progression, added a bunch of features that I didnt previously have as well as more power. Only 2 complaints in my 7 months of ownership so far - 1: gas tank size, I wish they had put a larger tank in and 2: the windshield wipers are slower than my 4Runner’s were and in heavy rain they seem to struggle to keep up.

Lexus RX350. I kept it because it is such a solid car. I test drove two Mazda's, a crown signia (sp?) and the RX with 110K still drove nicer than all of them
