New from UK

Am I the only one getting an Invincible in this chat? Given they are now suggesting mid-November, that trim car is obviously on a different ship which I guess makes sense - the hint is in the name! โ€˜FEโ€™ ๐Ÿ˜„
You are the only one posting - maybe others have dropped in to take a look - I really have no visibility about the order numbers - we calculated that there were maybe 250-300 LC FEs coming to the UK in 2024 but as I had understood it the Invincible was unlimited in production and the only issue was the 2025 engine change with the diesel either being an option long side a petrol hybrid or perhaps replaced

I was fishing with a mate who said Toyota had closed the UK order book for LCs and he was on a wait list for an invincible with a diesel engine

Not sure if that was related to the UK zero emission mandate and Toyota wanting to push ICE vehicles and hybrid sales into 2025 - seemed a bit odd as they could surely take orders now for 2025 delivery if that was the issue

Iโ€™m told itโ€™s a ratio thing TOYOTA has to sell X amount of EVs before they can sell Deisel s
Call Toyota UK they were very good with me

Trotter... " as I had understood it the Invincible was unlimited in production and the only issue was the 2025 engine change with the diesel either being an option long side a petrol hybrid or perhaps replaced" ...
I thought the 2025 changes were a mild hybrid diesel, not a petrol hybrid. Or have I misunderstood?

You are right

โ€œAn electrified version that combines the same 2.8-litre turbo diesel engine with 48V mild hybrid technology will be available in early 2025.โ€ [Toyota GB]

So not the same power plant they have released in the US - I rather expected them to limit the number of engines being fitted and just bring the US engine to Europe but seemingly not .

Quick geeky question - looking at a few YouTube reviews of UK/EU models not US - am I right the volume button is not on the side of the central screen behind the wheel

That seems to be a location that annoys or American friends

Seems to be moved to the button array that deals with seat and heating

The European version which seems a little lower spec than our Invincible version shows the volume button closer to the passenger seat. See hereโ€ฆโ€ฆ

Any news on your LC Kev
Nothing more Dave. Still anticipated for 9th Oct
Maybe the theory of the FEs are coming first ? I know mine is at Derby Toyota Uk gave me th van no. And ship name but the Dealer doesnโ€™t know anything and I havenโ€™t been offered any options

The orders can be placed here in the UK from next week - all being well I will be able to order a FE - pricing in the UK is a bit steep at GBP 79,995 for a First Edition with a 2.8 lt HiLux diesel engine not the US 48v hybrid - with the UK tensions with diesel engined cars itโ€™s a bit of a worry but I will place an order for Sept delivery if I can do so and my insurers will provide cover (question posed and hope to hear they will)

Are there any other UK members - seems to be largely a US/Canada site

I have had a FFRR for some years and this will be my first LC
Im in the UK and had my order cancelled by Toyota UK as they cannot supply me an invincible in the first allocations for the uk.

Hi Streffie, I had the same but when I asked for the two deposits back, they found another order which they say is due in November.
I donโ€™t think anyone knows whatโ€™s going on so I suspect there will be more disappointment to followโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆ

Iโ€™ve got Toyota UK looking into it with regards what happened but Iโ€™m going to hold out to the MHEV version now

Its probably my age ( 68 ) but i,m sticking to a straight forward Diesel as I intend to keep it for a long time, i,m thinking the hybrid Motor and associated stuff might cost a fortune to replace and also a specialist job etc?? but each to his own all the best Streffie will be interesting to see what its like do you know if its a Diesel hybrid or petrol ??

Good luck and please let us know what Toyota UK say.
Does anyone have a number for them? Iโ€™ve only been able to do email contact and couldnโ€™t see the number on the website. Thanks.

Iโ€™m early 50โ€™s and with Dave on that. The battery will be covered for 10 years (if you service the car per Toyota) but as that time approaches, the value of the car must be affected.
Maybe my biggest concern is the space the battery takes and thatโ€™s a common complaint from our friends across the pond on this Forum who have the petrol hybrid. That said, the 3rd row seating in our 7 seat version probably takes up similar space but I canโ€™t see that will be an option on a hybrid.
