You will need to get component speakers for the door that have a crossover and tweeter like the infinity primus 693c in that thread, or you could step up to the infinity kappa line

I dont think the component infinity refence REF697CF would work since it has a 2 way cross over that looks too large to fit into the A pillar, and I would not use a full range 6x9 in the door for the JBL replacement like i did with RE697F b/c it seems like the full range signal is sent to the door, so you need to make sure you dont end up doubling the tweeters

I dont think those would be a good choice for the JBL system. According to the other thread, the signal for the front door on the JBL system is split between the A pillar tweeter and the door woofer, and its possible that the full signal range is sent to the door woofer depending on the crossover config. With out testing that, i would avoid door speakers that have a tweeter like these since you could end up doubling the high frequency response.

If you wanted to use 6.5" speakers like those, you could go for the Infinity Primus 603CF or Morel Maximo 6 MK ii, just make sure you get the correct mounting bracket for the 6.5, I used 6x9s so i dont know what model that would be

Thank you. It's sounding too complicated for me. Too bad, I'm also into hip hop and rap music, thus the reason for the door upgrade. So for now, I will just upgrade the dash speakers with what you had recommended. Hopefully that alone will improve the sound overall. BTW forgot to mention, I have already installed a Beat Sonic amp.

I think the door woofers would make the most difference for you. If you skip upgrading the tweeter it's no more complicated to just put the woofer in the door.

Infinity Primus 693c
METRA 72-8109 wiring harness
METRA 82-8146 speaker bracket
Sound Deadening

Just install the woofers from the speakers and sound deadening (this really makes a difference for the bass) in the doors, and leave the tweeter upgrade for later if you feel you need it with this other wiring harness

So confirming only use the woofer speakers with the Primus 693C on the front doors, not the included tweeters. And this setup will work with door tweeters at the A pillars.

BtW, I had set the front gain on my Beat Sonic amp to the recommended 2pm. Rear was left at 12 position. Does this matter at all?

Correct, I am 95% sure that should work (I cant be totally sure since i haven't had my hands on the JBL setup, and Toyota does some wacky stuff w/ these stereos).

For starters, I've changed the dash speakers to Infinity 3.5s. Better sound. I'm going to wait on changing the doors speakers for now, but will apply sound deadening material in the doors.

Question for you, can I also put an Infinity speaker in the center dash?

I decided to go with the Infinity Kappa 693C for the rear paired with the 303C for the dash. The 303C connects directly with the 6x9s, bypassing the harness in the dash since it’s part of a 3-way component setup. For the rear, I opted for the Kappa 603CF. I’m removing the center speaker entirely as I don’t plan to use it.

To access the factory amps and get a clean audio signal for the new amp, I had to remove the seat. The factory amp needs to stay in place to retain fade and balance functionality. Due to limited space under the seats, my amplifier options are restricted. Behind the rear seat, there's only a small amount of space, but I found enough room under the middle rear seat for a JL Audio FIX 86.

In the rear trunk, I’ll be replacing the factory subwoofer with a JL Audio 8-inch subwoofer. Once everything is complete, I’ll provide a more detailed write-up. For now, here are some pictures of the work in progress!

I thought I was brave when I installed the Beat Sonic amp myself.

What do you suggest for the front door replacement that matches the same size speaker and will produce better bass and sound, without having to do anything else. So far I have the Infinity dash speakers with the Beat Sonic.

I'm very close to being satisfied coming from a Tesla premium sound system which was pretty bad ass, even better than the 7k Burmeister in my Porsche.

Beat sonic is def better but I wouldn't change that speaker unless you want to add an after market amp since it won't make a noticeable difference I ended up removing the Beat Sonic and putting a amp. But any 6x9 should work like Primus 693c. I believe you will lose bass since the OEM speakers are meant to work with the OEM amp.
