After driving my LC about 2,500 miles. Some hwy, most city.
I have come to the conclusion our LCs avg 13 mpg overall.
They are quick and drive exceptionally well. So that works for me.

you must have a heavy foot
Actually, not at all. I once posted 22 MPG after a 200 mile journey. However, since then, in the city, my numbers have dropped.
I don't mind and didn't expect anything different from a 5,000 lb tank.

Hi all,
I use eco mode. I do not drive in the left lane. I do not carry any junk in my LC. I have everything OEM.
I I am feather foot. During my daily commute, I can not drive fast. Then at lights I do not do pedal to the metal. My gas is Sam's Club Regular gas. I am consistently getting 28 mpg.

Do you frequently travel down hill with the engine off?

I'm 1400 miles in and around town mileage seems to be getting better.
I haven't been scientific with fill ups and the trip, but the computer has been reporting...

~ 25-6 mpg around town if babying it and taking advantage of the hybrid battery when coasting to slow down for an upcoming traffic ligt in South Florida.

~ 21 mpg on the highway doing 70-75 on a 320 mile journey

~ 14 mpg towing on the highway doing 70 mph on a 320 mile journey with a 2500lb trailer load (18' boat)

This feels like a luxe ride with no reason to try and scoot around in traffic to get an extra car length or 2.

I'm going to get more scientific with te MPG here soon.
My general feeling though is mileage is improving slightly after break in.

I'm at 13 MPG. Come hell or highwater. However, I do have a factory roof rack.

I have >6000 miles with A/T tires and I'm just shy of 20. I've never gotten the advertised 22/25 for a full tank but I've also never gotten near 13 on a tank.

I'm also averaging around 13MPG these days - all short drives (5-15min), very cold weather, city driving, winter gas mixture.
(And by city I mean stops and starts at every block or two, none of those 45mph suburban highways).

These things take forever to warm up. Before they warm up, the low speed acceleration is absolutely brutal on the fuel efficiency and the hybrid system hasn't even woken up yet.

I take solace in knowing that things are a lot better on longer road trips and that's why i got this beautiful beast.

Car & Driver just reported that in 75mph tests, roof-racks create a 3mpg hit on a 2022 Kia Carnival. I don’t have a roof rack and still have the stock tires on my LC 1958, but I suspect I will still want a bigger tank.

Hi all,
My commute is slow. I do take 5 freeways. Those are mostly flat. I have never turned off my engine while driving and have never opted for neutral while driving. Thanks for asking. This morning my 40 mile commute took 100 minutes.

I think this is only the eleventy hundredth thread on gas mileage, and it's clear: everyone gets different MPG.

That's about all that can be surmised. Some people are getting > 25, some getting 20-25, some getting 17-20, some getting less.

After 4000 miles I'm averaging 22 mpg mixed city / hwy driving. 1958 with stock tires. Normal driving mode.

As long are you are ok with it.

I have a 24 GX550, 33" AT tires and the LC roof rack and still get no less than 15 mpg if it's all city driving. On road trips, I can get closer to 19 or 20 mpg

HammerTheWall--We are just having fun here. No Land Cruiser owner actually cares about their MPG.

13mpg is wild! I get 15.5mpg in the city with aftermarket wheels, 33” “underinflated” A/T tires that are borderline M/T in tread design, and a heavy foot.

But I agree that this is a Land Cruiser and fuel efficiency isn’t a realistic goal.

my LC250 barely gets 18 MPG on highway. GX550 is doing better in MPG. Strange.

Right, and reason would follow that gas mileage differences are based wholly upon the operator driving preferences and the options they chose to add/delete from the their rig and not because gremlins at the Toyota factory are randomly sabotaging the production line to drive us all crazy. How about we never talk about this again?
