Heated Seats issue: Updated**

Does anyone have issues with the heated seats? Mine don’t feel very warm at all. I know it’s summer but we loved our heated seats to keep our back warm early in the morning or on road trip. Planning to bring into a local dealership to have it check.

Updated: Brought my LC to local Toyota dealership. Service guy told me they have to order the ac controller board because it show that there was limited voltage. The part has been ordered but it’s on backorder.

Could you update us as fo whether this works? My dealer said it was “operating as designed” in a passive aggressive tone

I seem to have the same issue with my heated seats. I purchased a 1958 with dealer installed leather seats (Katzkin leather). The seats look factory and I am happy with them ...except that the heated seats are emitting pitifully faint heat, even on full blast.

I am not sure if this is because:

A) the Toyota heating elements are weak (which would imply all Land Cruisers are effected)
B) the Katzkin leather is not perforated and may be thicker than OEM which could be causing the issue
C) I can't feel the heat because the ambient temperature is too high (its summer here in PA).

I fear the dealer may simply shrug this off. I invite others to weigh in.

I also got the dealer installed Katzkin leather! I love it. But I do wonder about whether my heated seats aren't as warm because of it. I can't really compare with when they were cloth because I got the leather done almost right away. They do warm, just not as hot as other vehicles I've driven with it. The heated steering wheel gets nice and toasty though.

The heated seats work fine. The cooled seats, not so much. I also have a Bronco. You could fry an egg on those seats, but the steering wheel heat is almost none existent. The LC wheel heat works great.

I have a FE and my heated seats get nice and toasty.

Ditto my steering wheel, it gets nice and toasty, maybe not as toasty as any of my BMWs, but warm enough.

Some cars have a feature in the heated seats where they automatically decrease or shut off after a set number of minutes. To keep it really hot, you have to re-initiate the max level.

I wonder if the LC does the same thing?

I did a long road trip yesterday and think it may be an issue of slow to heat vs heat temp. Over the course of the drive, I had to turn the seat heat down and turn the steering wheel heat off. On short drives, I find it inadequate, on a long drive yesterday definitely did the job.

Well....my heated seats and wheel works but compared to my 2021 F-350 they are inferior. My wheel and the seats in my Ford get HOT. The LC gets warm. Hasn't been an issue yet here in December in New Hampshire but ask me again mid February.

My 2024 RAV 4 heated seats are so much hotter than my 1958 Land Cruiser. It's not even comparable.

Not for nothing, but with a forscan, you can change the Bronco steering wheel temp….just saying.

I didn't even think of it might be adjustable.......... might have to hook up my autel and see if there are any parameters.
