2025 LC LC
Hello all, new user. Thanks for building and contributing to this site, it has been good reading for me while awaiting delivery -which is in a week or so.

I put a deposit down on a LC LC with premium package with many additional trinkets thrown in that i don't need.

I was not aware at the time of signing that Toyata had changed sway bar disconnect to optional for LC LC. Go build a 2025 landcruiser on toyota's site and you will see you have to add it to the build.

Dealer just told me that none of the 2025 LC on their way to the southeast have the sway bar disconnect option either. They are checking to see if they can add the system to the truck after delivery. Hopefully they can...

This is deal breaker for me if they can't, so i'm now looking at GX550 as an alternative now and trying to get my deposit back.

if your wondering why, I've suffered with manual disconnects in the past and prefer not to crawl around on the ground digging muck and vegetation out of the sway bar links trying to jimmy the pins back in. Yes i'm too old and spoiled for that anymore, especially with only 8 inches of ground clearance aired-up on pavement.

Added my window sticker. Highlighted stabilizer disconnect

I have a LC 2025 Premium, and the stabilizer disconnect is listed as standard equipment on my window sticker. Verified that its installed.

It seems SDM will be an option going forward according to configurator.

It's interesting that Toyota would implement this change not even midway through the model year.

This makes me wonder what other current standard features between the trims will become โ€œa la carteโ€ options going forward and/or if the 1958 will be discontinued for MY26.

so my quick theory is that the 6th gen 4Runner is rolling out now and if I remember correctly I know at least the Trailhunter and TRD Pro trims both include the SDM automatically. Since the Tacoma, LC and 4Runner share a lot of similar or exactly the same parts such as the SDM it might become a part reservation for short time with the 4Runners being built and shipping from Japan. I want to say I remember something about the 4Runners are built in the same factories as the LC but I could be wrong. Just my 2 cents of theory.
I can throw out that I had held out for a while for the 4Runner Trailhunter before buying my LC/LC Premium. But unfortunately with Toyota's parts delays and then further release of the Trailhunter I think coming later this year I went with the LC and I truly believe long term I am going to be much happier. I absolutely adore the boxy style of the LC reminds me so much of the FJ Cruiser that I had always wanted. Sorry to get off topic a bit, hope you find what you are looking for!

Welcome to the Jungle!

So are you saying the Trailhunter and Trd Pro trims have an automatic SDM or rather that SDM is standard equipment on both those trims?

This change does not appear to affect Canadian vehicles.

I believe they include an SDM with those trims from what I remember reading and playing around with the configurations that were up on the Toyota (NA) website. It's been a while since I looked at them but I remember seeing a Tacoma Trailer Hunter in person when I picked up my LC and it has the SDM button in it's button cluster so it was included at least I. That build's. I will say that the 4th Gen Taco.a seats got even smaller compared to the 3rd Tacoma TRD Pro that I have/drive, definitely not remotely as comfortable as the LC seats and leg room and overall fitting felt mildly cramped for me which I was surprised - just a side take on space of a new Tacoma vs. the LC.

My 25 Premium has it and itโ€™s listed as standard equipment.

Just informed by dealer that there is a potential problem with the stabilizer disconnect device and that is why they stopped installing them as standard. Also, dealer cannot/will not install the device after delivery.

I'm wondering how bad the head toss is in the LC without Stabilizer disconnected, can anyone comment? For comparison, I have lifted jeep 2 door JK wrangler and i need a significantly better ride offroad.

Interesting information, thanks for sharing that! I'll take what a dealership says with a grain of salt and not fully believe it at face value but given some of the other issues that have popped up on the other redesign trucks (Tacoma, Tundra, Lexus?) I'm sure there just some minor items and Toyota will work to fix them. I have reasonable faith in Toyota to take care of folks and find a fix, problems happen. Would be curious to know what the actual issue is or believed to be with the SDM maybe just a lock/unlock pin/latch minor issue.

Iโ€™ve ridden on forest service type roads with washouts here and there and have tried it with and without the stabilizer bar connected. Nothing too radical and obviously at very low speeds. I honestly donโ€™t notice any difference in ride quality with it disconnected. I would think any vehicle with IFS will give a smoother ride than a Wrangler both on and off road.
