Captain Trips .gif of beating a dead horse got me raising this question.

Is there a way for a forum user to MUTE a specific thread that they no longer want to see in their feed?

I am thinking of subjects that have become tiresome for an individual and not subjects that should be blocked or removed.

Like many others I am sure, I read the forum daily just to see what people are posting, get advise, see new products and what interesting things are happening. Also like others, I am tired of the same old round and round on certain subjects...fuel economy, trolling about other cars instead of LC, etc.

Of course I can skip reading those threads, but it never hurts to ask if this mute option is possible.

Please just read and join conversations on what topics you want or benefit for you, and leave other threads for others.

Happy LC to all

I saw that gif. Meh. Whatever.
You can unwatch a thread if you don't want to get notifications for that thread. People shit post and troll. It's how the online world is. Free speech without European limits.

You can ignore users. That will probably help some.

I second this. I don't have trouble ignoring the threads, it would just be nice to have them not always showing up when I check "What's new" and the first five threads are ones I have no interest in. I have no idea if this software allows for that. For now I just click on the last page of the thread to open it in a background tab and then close that tab and it goes away. But like the warnings you get when you start using off-road modes or your sensors ice up, sometimes it comes back 5 seconds later.

One thing I would love to see that I know the software does allow -- merging repeat topics. If someone starts a new thread on something that's already been discussed over and over and over, either because they didn't search or because they want attention, those threads can be merged into existing threads where they belong. (And then if I could ignore some of those threads, even better!)

Here's your answer. It's an optional add-on for $15 a year.

I'll pay for the first year.

I think the merging of same topic threads is a wonderful idea. Also, I think it would be beneficial to the users because it would be better for searching. Currently, if you do a search for “premium” as in gas the search comes up with at a minimum 20 pages of posts. I think this is the number one topic on this forum and I think all these multiple threads should be merged.

21 now.

I feel bad that I offended people with a beating a dead horse meme. I’m sorry people…..
Oh, i didn't see your dead horse meme until just now. lol. I was making fun of the irony that this thread will also now show up in your search because you used the "P" word. :p

Yeah don't apologize! Nowadays everyone is so ready to be offended. Have a laugh (or don't) and move on.

Different case if someone posted NSFW-type stuff, but that's what the moderators are for.
